I agree, he's pretty straightforward, too if you ask me. Just from what I've seen on his twitter.. If You piss the man off, you'll know it. He doesn't seem to sugar coat anything or give PR shit.
So, I'd take his word.
I would honestly keep prioritizing internal development the most since Nintendo 1st party games do way better on their systems compared to most of the 3rd party games. Make more games themselves to pull people in and get the install base growing. Some third parties wont work with them because of install base size.
But on the other hand if they did prioritize external partnerships, it could MAYBE get more 3rd party games popular on the system. Like, more actual 3rd party game...
Mine is to pretty much get a Steam Machine to sit beside my Wii U with a nice pretty 50 inch(At least) HD 1080p TV. ;)
To buy all my MUST GET games.
Play some more indie games.
Try some new Genres.
and Spoil myself and friends with games.

Ah, those Wii U games are on my top for this year~ I seriously can't wait to get a hold of X the most.
Although, I can't really say for the 3DS list, I might try to pick up Kirby 3D, but I have way too many pre-orders right now for Wii U.. My Wii U is due for some major attention that my 3Ds got last year, and this year is perfect.
It's because they've been screwing up for a while in practically all their other divisions BESIDES Playstation.
Samsung, LG, Apple, Vizio, many other companies are in the picture now and they're destroying Sony by putting out products with good quality and a nicer looking price.
This is why it's annoying whenever people doom Nintendo. Sony is in more trouble than Nintendo is and plenty of people get raged at for pointing that out.

Actually, no, I don't think the same thing will happen. The reason Xenoblade didn't get the recognition it deserved is because-
1. It was a Wii game. "Oh no bad graphics and stupid kiddy games"
2. It took forever to localize to the western gamers, so most of them gave up on it and/or pirated the game on PC instead.
3. Only a limited shipment came in, so once those were quickly gone, the price skyrocketed into the $100'...
I seriously doubt it, but there's still a chance it could be.
I hope it isn't. We have a bunch of other racing type games coming that AREN'T ports, Mario Kart 8, Project CARS, Fast racing Neo...
