Exactly.... I personally think there is to much focus on 4k and not enough focus on "EVERYTHING" else.
If next gen is about 4k then expect it to be no different from this gen other then better resolution. That will not entice me to jump into the next gen.
If rockstar do anything with MT's, I'm sure it won't be any different than what they have done with Gta5. I say that because just look at how successful Gta5 has been so rockstar will not want to brake that formula.
BC should be a standard going forward, but it certainly isn't going to make or break a console.
If BC is the biggest feature of a console this far into the gen, then there really is an issue.
VR needs to start somewhere and if you're going to wait for everyone else to become successful first, then you will always be behind.
Ps4 guy's may not turn it down if it was an option, but that doesn't mean that anyone on that platform even cares one way or the other.
Why do Xbox guy's care about cross play anyway.... unless they don't have anyone to play with.

You don't sell 90 million copies of anything on hype and curiosity. Even if people bought the game twice on 2 different platforms, that alone should make a statement... People obviously want the game especially if they are willing to buy it twice.
And how many years did it take to make Gta5?

You also simply don't have to buy MT's period. Don't forget that all updates are free also.

I think the better move financially would be to get a 4k tv within the next couple years and then buy into next gen.
If you already own a ps4 or Xbox, I certainly wouldn't upgrade now with rumours of how close we are to next gen. I think it would be a complete waste for money to buy in now unless you don't already own a base system yet.

If you are referring to me, which I am sure you are. I would like to point out that I don't even own an Xbox, and my pc died and I have no plans on a new build.
So what platform do you think I play on? It ain't anything Nintendo I can assure you of that.
I buy digital games and I've been doing this ever since last gen. I have quite the game collection with close to 300 games between this and last gen.
My point is.... I would have very much appreciated being able to carry all my games forward from last gen. I understand the hardware issue and yes I still have 2 ps3. But going forward I see no reason why ps5 shouldn't be BC. I will be very irritated if I can't at the very least continue to play ps4 games from my PSN profile...
There is no reason why BC shouldn't be a standard, you should be able to carry all your games forward.
You also can't deny that this game will get support for a very long time.
This is a game that will only continue to get better with time.
If that ever happens, by that time the X won't be the most powerful console anymore.
It's only a matter of time.
