The obvious reason for this is because pretty much everyone ,even kids, have smart phones.
How many more millions of smart phones are out there compared to consoles or even gaming PC's?

Sony has always launched in the fall just before the holiday season. There is no reason to think that they will suddenly change that , after all people are creatures of habit.
Well some people actually like to play games with others as well. I never said I only play mp games. Actually most of the games I play are single player, but I am not going to waist money on a game with zero replay value.
I may have bought this game if it had multiplayer as well, I just don't see single player having much replay value at all. Games like this bore me quickly especially after beating the campaign.
What would have been wrong with at least a co-op mode ?

Well if mom and dad are doing their job then they would have installed parental control to their kids accounts and pretty much make it impossible to just buy anything.

I guess people don't understand the value of money decreases every year. The technical term for this is inflation, something that seems to actually rise very slowly in the video games industry compared to everything else.
