Sell the PS4 at $350 within the next few months, problem solved. Sure, they probably don't have to, but within 3-4 months the PS4 will be 2 years old. There has to be a price cut.

If MS can buy this IP for the right price, then it's a win. But I don't think it's worth in the billions unless they're getting a lot more than just the IP.
You would have to be a massive butt-hurt fanboy if you would rather have a game go unfinished, than have another division pick it up and finish it for people to play. Regardless of who it is.
Money is not a problem for MS. And the Xbox1 is selling faster than the x360 ever did at this point, therefore it's actually doing quite well for itself.
MS has been doing business for decades, they're not just going to spend money without knowing they're going to get something in return for their investments.
Aside from voice commands, the kinect is not very useful to me.
I think MS invested too much time and money into a product that gets very little use when it comes to gaming. Including the kinect with the xbox at launch was a huge mistake.
In that case, I'm glad I went with console.
