The Star Ocean games generally aren't numbered per say. They usually have some elaborate title like 'The Second Story', 'Til the End of Time', & 'Last Hope'. Fans just call the by numbers cause it is way easier to remember them.
Square Enix experimented on the Xbox last get & it just didn't work out the way that they planned. That is why JRPGs suffered to gain an identity that they once had during the heydays, the audience for the genre was just too small on Xbox.
Now many of the big JRPG developers are making their way back 'home' on to the platform that they once strived on. On Playstation the audience for JRPGs has always been there from the beginning. We were begging for the retur...
The thing is that only western markets have no interest in the system which is a shame cause it really is a very underrated. However in its native homeland of Japan it is doing very well. Every week it is either 1st or 2nd on the sales charts with a number if its software charting well also.
The west have this mindset that the Vita is an unneeded system cause of the 3ds and the rise of mobiles. In reality it really wasn't given a chance at all, some fault lies with Sony b...
So that's why Disgaea did so poorly at retail, most bought the game digitally. That's good to know, was kinda worried about the health of the series.
Hopefully since the majority of Disgaea sales come from the west the sales here will make up for the retail ones in Japan.
I'm not sure why Tecmo used that pic for their promo of Lisa but in game she still has darkish skin. It may be the lighting in the stage or something that caused the pic to look like that but i assure she does not look like that in the game.
Either Itagaki is upset that his 'baby' is still successful without him & that he has yet to do anything remotely to replicate that success.
The PSP is the best version cause it doesn't screw with the camera like it does in the HD remasters. I don't know who thought of that amount of motion blur when you turn the camera in the remasters but that is unacceptable. For some it makes the game almost unplayable.
I guess some people are so use to a certain mechanic in games & when they change it gives them problems adjusting to them. I looks like this guy had that problem, playing Dark Souls so long you get use to the shield but when that is taken away the way you play the game changes.
I find it odd he says the game is no longer has RPG elements as in Dark Souls but it still does though. It's more of an action RPG.
I like this response from Shu.

He's proud of the baby he made with From.
Actually they have collaborated since the PSone days with Kings Field series. So everytime Sony & From work with one another it is a match made in heaven.
Thank god that stevior review isn't counted cause even metacritic knows that was a ridiculous review. The cons the guy pointed out did not make sense.
He praises the challenge but complains it is frustrating....so which is it challenging or frustrating? Yeah loss all credibility.
The thing is the site gave Dark Souls 2 a 9/10 & that game is just as hard as Bloodborne or any other Souls game.
If he describes Bloodborne as a PS3 game complaining about the visuals so why did Darks Souls 2 get a high score even though the game doesn't look that good either.
The guy just couldn't adjust to the games different style which explains why he mentioned the fine line from fun to frustrating, however one of his pros was 'Challengin...
The guy is entitled to his opinion but the Bad points he makes is just utterly ridiculous.
- The game walks a fine line between fun and frustrating.
- Definitely not one for everyone.
- Stupid long load times and ugly-ass visuals.
His first point....has he ever played a Souls game before?
Really?! ugly ass visuals?! its victorian setting not some paradise buddy.
Yeah it was annoying in GTA5 but the reviews never made it a big issue. The fear is that it may be a big factor if Bloodborne gets flac for it when other games like GTA5 did not.
If it does than that would be a problem with the double standards in game reviews. If reviews mention it but don't make it a factor in their overall score than that would be ok. We'll see.
This IS a PS exclusive so you may never know. If a game like Ratchet & Clank got complaints for having too much variety in a review anything is possible unfortunately.
What i don't want to see from reviews for this game is the constant comparison to Dark Souls and undercut Bloodborne when it is an entirely different game.
I'll say the same thing I said in the duplicate thread.
This Gen Joe hasn't like many of the games released, so either he is a tough man to please or there is something seriously wrong with development of games today. I vote for the latter.
Although many times I don't agree with some of Joe's reviews, at least they are entertaining.
Sure even on the lowest setting it's still ridiculous but not that different when you see real women participate in fitness activities like running or aerobics especially if they are well endowed like the ladies of DOA.
I do find it sad that a lot of talk STILL about this series is the over exaggeration of the female body and so little about how solid it is as a fighting game. What the series is over 10 years old I would think that we would be over that issue by now.
Possibly but my thinking is what if they pulled something like what they did with Little Big Planet 3. Nobody knew that announcement was coming at it released that holiday season.
What if Last Guardian received that exact treatment, wouldn't that be something. Sony needs something to ease the pain of Uncharteds delay to keep the momentum they have going. Sure there could be other reveals like Guerrillas, Media Molecule or Quantic Dreams. However none would have the Intern...
Wow Joe hasn't liked many things this Gen so far, he must be a very hard guy to impress. Although at times I don't agree with some of Joe's reviews at least he makes his cases entertaining.
I hope so too but if you think about it isn't that the perfect scenario. Like you said they didn't think twice about delaying Uncharted 4 for almost half a year. The PS4s arguably biggest game so there has to be something to fill that void.
I don't think the Last Guardian is canned cause if it was Sony isn't afraid to say so. Like they did with the Getaway, or Stig's game from Sony Santa Monica. They keep saying they are waitin for the right time so I hope...
They say they are developing the game in the same way as with Star Ocean 3. The logo is very similar to 3s & in the Famitsu article they said that DLC wasn't an option & they are trying to make the fullest game possible.
