@Jin
But, it didn't slow by 26% like Playstation's operating income. I think Microsoft will be OK.
Thanks for concerns.
Cheers
@jin
Is it true Sony has no 1st party games till April 2025? That's would mean "Sony has no games!" Till next year. And if they also come out on PC then they are not exclusives.
@Chevalier
Those sales mean nothing if there operating income DROPPED 26%!
Do get that? Operating income funds games, infrastructure, and R&D for new consoles. Sony lost over 1/4 of theirs and have no 1st party games coming this year to fix that.
Now they have to pay for their 3rd party exclusives and that's even more money going out.
@Kyizen
I can't believe you said something about "milking games " how many versions of "The last of us" have been released ? How many remaster, re-release, reboots?
Also you don't need 7 "God's of war" because you already have 10.
In chronological order
1. GOW : Ascension
2. GOW : chains of Olympus
3. Original GOW
4. GOW: Ghost of Sparta
5. On mobile GOW:Betrayal
...
They missed projected sales by 4 million and operating income is down 26%!
Like I have been saying things aren't as rosy on they Playstation side as people here think. The lack of 1st party games was the first sign. Then, their whole showcase being 3rd party games they bought.
I'm curious to see how they turn this around.
@j8n
Have you thought that most people that bought have finished the game 6 months later? Also how does the amount of people paying 6 months later on steam effect the money made from the amount of games already sold?
I didn't know it was on PC too. It looks like a mess. I will wait for them to fix it.
Might get this on PC.
Is that a bigger drop of than Starfield?
How many times can you release the same game over and over. Do you think this will be the last TLOU remastered, updated, etc...?
@raW
What do you mean? Does that also count for all the 3rd party exclusives Sony has paid for this year?
Microsoft bought ABK for a reason and it looks like it paid off. Compared to Sony's Bungie purchase, which one seems like a better buy now?🤔
@jin
What is Sony putting up this year? What first party games are coming out this year has you excited? What games are you expecting at today's State of play?
Who is trying to kill "the business " and how?
They have to have something. So far their road map hasn't been great. I'm interested to see what they have and maybe I'll pick it up on PC.
I guess we have to change the definition of exclusives for Sony. Because when Microsoft did it people said "Xbox has no games !" Does the same apply for Sony now?
I know. It's like having the number one selling console by a large margin and laying off people. "Clutching my pearls"
After gamestop insulted me when I tried to trade in my ps3 and 360 games I went all digital. I was use to it on PC so, it was no big deal for me.
It's funny that I saw another article on this and they made it sound like it was only Starfield getting reduced.
Well for a long time when Xbox did it people said that wasn't an exclusive. But, I forgot when Sony does it's good and when Xbox does it than it's bad.
Got it👍
@felix
Those are not 1st party games. I remember Sony fans saying "Xbox shouldn't buy games and invest in their own studios!" Is it only ok when Sony does it?
Please explain because it's hard to keep up with the rules constantly changing.
Do you include every PS game on PC as not an exclusive? If so Sony doesn't have very many exclusives. One might say "PS has no games!".
I don't get articles like this. Helldive 2 is a third party game that Sony paid for? This is not a Sony 1st party game made by their studio. So, why do people act like this is a Sony AAA 1st party game? Why compare this game to a 6 month old RPG like Starfield and not an action game like COD?
It's just odd.
