Looks like Fall and Winter will be good for Nintendo.
Apple was suppose to have Blu-Ray drives in it's Mac line up by now, but it hasn't happen yet.
It was suppose to happen back in the 1st qtr 07.
After seeing dual support for both formats in Leo developer seeds, I believe Apple might be working toward a dual format drive.
I also wonder, if the Intel allegiance has also changed Apples stance on the HD-DVD format.
Intel recently gave exclusive(limited time frame) rights to Apple to use it's new 8 core Xeons in...
Whoever wins at the big dept. stores like Wal-Mart and Target will be the one that wins the format.
Well think of it like this.
Within a yr all HD DVD players will drop in price to compete.
I like the idea of mounting the sensor bar into the top of the LCD.
But didn't they also redo the PCB board and add more epoxy to it. Oh, and they added a HDMI port.
I think that might make up some of that $80 cost.
Those are basically Xbox graphics. Go look at the Xbox ver of Spider-man 2 gameplay trailer.

This made me think the PS3 is made out of acid or something.
Shortly after COD3 was released on the Wii and folks complained about no online play.
I read COD4 would be based in Iraq and they were testing online play.
Not sure if any of thats true, but it would be nice if it had 50 co-op play they talked about.
Well I'm reading this: 藍光 HD DVD
Thats not blu ray that translates into Blue Light HD DVD.
(Chinese Traditonal Han, if I'm not mistaken)
Both use a blue laser, but one is only called HD DVD.
Here is the orig Akihabara news post about the Wal-Mart deal.

It looks like no-one is sure so it could be either or, or both.
I think I might buy one then, if this comes out by X'mas.
I was going to buy a HD tv set from Wally World.
I wonder if Target will follow this up with a HD DVD player as well, from TruTech.
Square Enix owns the rights to FF 7.
They only made the game on the PS, because it would been too expensive to make it for the N64 at the time.
It had been orig. planned for the N64.
But does that subtract PS3's and add-on HD DVD players and PC blu and HD drives for PC's?
I believe HD DVD has sold more stand alone units.
I know Toshiba sold 100k HD DVD players in the US. (reported this month)
Not sure what the numbers are in Japan, Europe and other parts of the world.
He makes some good points about Sony and it's failed formats.
Did they ever figure out the load times on HD DVD and blu ray players yet?
I don't want to wait 1min or even 10 sec for a dang movie to load.
If your going to replace DVD then you need to load just as fast, if not faster then DVD.
Sounds like a $19.99 game, but no more then $29.99.
I think it's a cell phone game right? originally.
Wow!
I didn't think I would get this much of a response, but I did.
Thanks to all that agreed with me.
A more reliable 360 might actually get my money because I really want FM2 and Dirt and Revo.
"Is it truly noteworthy that you've gone up a rung on the bottom of the ladder while a Game Boy Advance steps on your fingers and a Gamecube is telling you to stop holding everybody up? "
That made me chuckle a bit.
"Wiimote, keyboard, mouse, dvd drive, sd-card and network support."
I would wait for Nintendo to update it's USB drivers and or a new Wii with DVD drive support built in.
I figure you could run Linux off a disc like in other distro's and that run's on the PPC arch.
Make the Wii think it's a game or sorts that uses both bluetooth keyboard and mouse.
