My only problem is the weak Pokemon taking multiple Pokeballs to capture. It's ridiculous and anti-consumer. I can't sit at Pokestops all day and I'm not going to pony up real-world cash for Pokeballs.....

Niantic is under no obligation to respond every complaint or negative news article. If they see a big negative impact from the updates I'm sure they will reconsider and reverse some decisions.
It's much harder to catch Pokemon and that's really annoying. If they don't fix it I will stop playing. I'm going through Pokeballs like crazy and will not spend any more money in this game.

All this means is that PS4 is currently bringing in the MOST profit. They are not "entirely dependent" on it.
They have plenty of other divisions that bring in profit. Playstation could just suddenly die and Sony would still chug along.
