If you take a look at some of news that was posted on this site before September(In August when I signed up there was alot of negative PS3 news) you'll see the news was hardly PS3 friendly. I think you described the 360 and not the PS3. That being said to those who actually weren't fooled by the media, the resurgence was inevitable. All those comparisons to the PS2 launch turned out to be true.

Yeah I'd have to side with cheeze on this one. If Standalone Blu-Ray players cost $300-500(and sometimes more) how much do you think the add-on is going to cost? Be real man.

It's about damn time. Now they can make some money on HD optical media for another 5-10 years that it takes for DD to become widespread.
The key word in this rumor is standalone. There is no way a standalone add-on for the 360 will compete with the PS3 which has the drive built in. Also you have to remember, 360 owners don't watch movies on their machines, they only play games(as some people have said while attacking the PS3 as a Blu-ray player first and a console second)
This is great news for the Multi-player(which is vastly better than the single player campaign from what i've heard.
I don't mind installs at all. If it decreases the wear and tear on my optical drive then i'm all for it. The time thing just seems like something to nitpick at. When I'm waiting for something to install, there are normally many things I can do to occupy my time until it's finished. All in all I don't think it's a big idea. Also unless i'm mistaken can't you delete whatever you put on the HD?
It also happened by not listening to the media, who were so quick to write the obituary of the PS3

Calm down man. You seem a little upset that the 360 got outsold. Even if there are stock shortages for the 360 the PS3 did outsell it right? And if the stock shortages are real when the next set of NPD numbers are released the 360 should sell more than the PS3 because the shortages would have been fixed by your logic, right?
Come on man are you serious? Doomed console? It sold 10 million in it's first year and it's doomed. And it did this with a $500-600 price point. Use your head and don't make such foolish statements.
I hope this is wrong because if it isn't then there's going to be alot of pissed off 360 fanboys!!! Also I thought the PS3 wasn't supposed to outsell the 360 in America. This is great news for Sony though.

Yeah. When I see stuff like this I laugh. Some people believe that since that the consumer should have total and absolute control over the content they didn't create, which also includes downloading it for free and ripping the content. The fact that the companies spend money to produce their content and expect a ROI means nothing, absolutely nothing(end sarcasm)
Yeah I saw the commercial for DMC4 and saw the 360 logo at the end and laughed because looking at that commercial you would think it was a 360 exclusive.
