They have no rights to block anything. They don;t own anything from the game. My question for Activision is what would you lose by no supporting the Wii? Most of the 3rd party games on the system don't sell anyway(at least the good ones don't sell while the crap does, Mario and Sonic here's lookin at you) so why does it matter. This really does suck balls.

Why did Kigmal get a disagree for saying that the Xbox is different from 360? It is different. The Xbox was never as strong as the 360 is right now. Not in exclusives or any category I can think of. There is no way that MS will cut off support for the 360. It would give the negative image of having done that twice and it just doesn't make sense financially. They can still make a very heavy profit(profit being the operative term) on the 360.

When people say that MS Entertainment and Devices division(which includes the Xbox, Zune and PC games amongst others)in debt they mean from the time they entered the gaming market and the XBox specifically. They are including the billions of dollars they lost on the first Xbox. Granted the 360 has turned a profit in the last 2 quarters but how much money have they lost on the 360 since it's been out. That being said the division as a whole is doing fine(as the 360 just turned to profitability...

I don't know how old this person is but i'm gonna assume he's pretty old since it takes me(and most people in my age group 20-30 year old tech minded people)a couple of days to gain a thorough understanding of the device. Yeah movies are better in the theater but I don't want to have to travel all the way to movie theater and shell out $11 to watch a movie. And digital hd movie downloads aren't close to be mainstream, as download speed aren't fast enough yet. This just sounds like a old perso...

Agreed. I've been saying this for the longest. How portable are the downloaded movies going to be and is it going be enough to turn people from traditional disc-based media? I don't think so. The tech has not advanced enough for this to be prevalent(hell in US only 40-50% of the households have broadband and even then some of the speeds are way to slow to download an HD movie.

DD will be Blu-ray's downfall when in 5-10 years?

6689d ago 7 agree0 disagreeView comment

Yeah. I've wanted to get a 360 for quite some time but the RROD scares the hell out of me. I don't want to have to wait for MS to send my system back and I don't feel the need to have to spend extra money on a warranty because the system keeps on breaking. With the new Falcon chips it's supposed to be more reliable so we'll see.

So I guess production costs are gonna go down even more.

What exactly is wrong with Killzone. I just finished playing the game and I think it was a pretty good game. Not a Halo killer but a damn good game.

Some of us drive stick. Gives you a better feel and in my opinion it much more fun to drive stick then automatic(though much harder)

Yeah I agree. I need a clutch to get the full realism, though this does look pretty cool and should be pretty responsive. I'll probably get this when the game comes out or look for an alternative with a clutch.

My thoughts exactly. You can't beat em', then bash em'

Who argued that the PS3 didn't tip the scale of the format war? Of course it did. If the PS3 didn't have a built-in Blu-Ray player this war would still be alive and well.

Don't insult anyone's intelligence. You seem like a pretty reasonable person. You can't use Mp'3 and music industry as a guide for several reasons.1) Downloading of Mp'3 became popular because of their size and the ability to pick and choose which songs off an album you wanted. Alot of people didn't like whole CD's just a couple of songs, which they could download and play on their MP3 players with no problem. Also most mp3's are only 4-5 Megs in size whereas HD movies are likely to be 25-30 ...

I haven't watched the disney movies 25 times(only the Lion King but that was the S***. I hear what you are saying but the problem is download speeds. Broadband is fast and is growing around the world but it isn't there yet. It will take at 3-4 years(and that's generous) to get speeds where they need to be so it won't take a couple of days to download. Think about it: If it takes you a day or two(or three/four) to download a regular 9 gig DVD, how long to you think it's going to take to downlo...

"movies aren't meant to be seen more than once". Do you believe that statement? There are many movies which are timeless classics which are watched over and over. Also most Disney movies are rewatched and I've watched my DVD's of Van Wilder and Equilibrium at least 25 times and i'm sure the majority of people watch their favorites over and over. And if not it's the convenience of being able to watch it whenever you want with no hassle.

What never ceases to amaze me is that Movies and TV aren't looked upon in the same light as video games. I see plenty of violence in movies and on tv so shouldn't that have the same effect as video games?(which most evidence has supported is none)

Yeah but they don't want to be viewed as abandoning the PS2. That would harmful to their image. Most of the PS2 will jump to the PS3 in due time. I don't feel there is a need to discontinue the PS2 because it's still a very large cash cow for them. If they drop the price of the PS3 again that will spur the sales even more.

Oh get the f*** out of here. Do these people actually think or do some research before they make wild baseless claims like this.

Yeah. It's not the time yet for DD. Download speed would have to significantly improve and even if you follow Moore's law it'll take another 2-3 years for the speeds to improve(assuming the Telecom companies pour all their profits into improving bandwidth)
