I remember games being linear for gens and noone ever complained. It seems that every game has to be a sandbox these days. Atleast the way that headline is worded gives it a terribly negative tone for a game to be linear.
I have no reason to defend this game but I do know for a fact that games have been extremely linear for decades. I should know since I played them as a kid.
@kav
It takes 5 full years worth of new exclusive ips from MS to get me to change my opinion and accept their "apology".
The only thing MS has done right imo is the original xbox. They had the games back then and they didn't change that message either. The support for xbox was cut short but since they had a good reason for it I let them off the hook just like that.
The x360 started out strong. The way their executives and PR peo...
DRM and used game fee is no bandwagon. Nice try though....
That collection is amazing but MS is poisonous to the gaming industry. Them making all those 180 due to low sales changes nothing about their true intentions.
People have values. MS was working their butts off to ruin gaming as a whole when they revealed the Xbone. Now they are scrambling and going against everything the original xbone stood for for the sake of money. No backbone whatsoever.
It is not an option to support MS if you value gaming atm. They need to work long and hard to gain the trust back. I say they need atleast 5 years full of fresh new ips for me to even consider buying the xbone. No BS PR where they take jabs at ...
Agreed 100%. Anyone dissapointed is an idiot. What did they expect really?
I will wait this gen. No money and even less time to play. It's taken me months to put 80 hours into Dark Souls 1 on my PS3 (still a work in progress as I just started NG+) and my backlog is long as all hell. I was the first in line for PS3 and I have no hurry to change my main console atm. My PS3 is giving me my money's worth ten fold. My console of choise is and will always be Playstation (un...

I'll just leave this here. Props for outlawed.
Demon gaze just released on it though and another jrpg is in the works. Forgot what it's called though. Then there's that Ys game too. Not too shabby imo.
@darkstares
You can't change your principles over night. Changing your "this is what we stand for" like that is nothing but money talking. MS ignored every gamer from the initial reveal up untill the pre-order numbers came in.
I have never ever heard of a company that goes against their own word this much. That goes against their own promises no less. There is no telling what they backtrack next. How can anyone trust them?

@jeff
How are they restricting the gamers? They wanted DRM and used sale fee on games for example. Also everything behind a paywall.
How they controll gamers? Participating retailers only for example. You should watch angry joe's rants about this.
How are they milking? I say that since it's only the same 3 franchises MS "invests" in that are safe bets every time. Where are the big budget exclusive new ips? Also Halo ODST and...

"my brain has been programmed to perceive frame rate drops as a sign some cool sh*t is going on in the game"
LOL! That's hilarious.
I wouldn't hold my breath about MS and their E3. Ever since the Kinect was first revealed sometimes in 2008-2009ish their E3 has been s*it and I'm not even going to start with E3 2013.
This E3 will show how much MS truly wants their fans back. Even though I personally think MS will make a big push for gamers this year their track record about keeping up the support is grimm to say the least. The x360 had games for 2 years and after that there was Kinect and nothing mo...
All of those are good moves to promote sales for their product yes. It doesn't change the fact that they want gaming to be VERY restricted, controlled, milked and abused (from a gamers pov ofc). The initial reveal ruined their chance of ever winning me over most likely.
@christ
Why does it upset? Maybe because the statement is false in every possible way outside fanboy thinking? Could that be it?
This place has been so full of people spewing false information for years it gets frustrating from time to time. Even the smallest of false comments irritates sometimes.
Clearly nigel's comment was meant in that Charlie Sheen "winning"-mentality but still the way he said it can be taken as a jab agains...
@corvus
Battered wife syndrome much?
Good luck with that MS.
This game was pretty hard but I finished it iirc. I liked it too iirc.
TITANFALL DO'H!!
@darkstares
"You buy the product based on what it offers, that's it. "
Sorry but no. Some people have values outside money in their life. MS is a cancer on this industry. All you have to see are the facts leading up until this day to see that.
@bundi
No. He got you to use a bubble so I wouldn't call it a miss. One less head-ache of a comment to read on this site.
