It's a little different to view the attach rates for a new device and the only few games available for it and an older device with tonnes of games available for it. I think THAT was you trying too hard.
Didn't Motorstorm and Resistance Fom sell like hot cakes on PS3 because they were the only good games available? The attach rate of those games surely were above 30%. More like 50-60% in the first few months. THAT'S what I meant. 30% ...

As long as it benefits Nintendo in the end that is. To me 3DS seemed like a new gen of handhelds and it is a shame to see it dropping this low in price at this point of it's life.

PS3 didn't have a bad launch. It had a "bad" price and that was the only thing that was the problem. Even with that price it outsold the x360 don't forget about that little fact.

Well yeah that combined with the fact that the original xbox was really hurting MS's bottom line cause the HDD's were expensive back then. Wasn't this the reason for them cutting the xbox's production the minute x360 came out? That's what I recall anyway.....
I think it should be easy to support x360 since they aren't taking a loss on each system sold this time around.

Yeah I get what you mean. It is a pretty long time to wait for the install before being able to play but I don't think it's that bad. I usually put the game to install while putting the kids to bed brushing their teeth and all that. If there's NOTHING to do meanwhile it installs I usually let my anticipation grow and browze the little instructionsbooklet through while waiting. I'm wondering how many discs will the x360 version have? It's not like the data can be overly compressed to fit on 2 discs since it has to be able to play without an install. 2 DVDs would make the game pretty much unplayable from disc with the pop ins and such right?
Ontopic: 8 Gigs? Pretty much but I have plenty of space on my 250GB slim left. No worries for me.
3DS went down 50% and PS3 went up 50%.
If something like this goes on it means PS3 gains a 100k consoles on x360 in Japan in a month. That's a big gap to make up for in USA. How was the last NPD for example (too lazy to check out).
