I sold my fat for 250€ and bought a 250gb slim for 304€. I'm DLing stuff on my new slim as we speak.
My main reasons were that this new slim runs quieter and generates less heat. Also the warranty had run out and I didn't feel like paying 260€ for a new refurb fat any time soon. The summer here has been HOT and it keeps on getting hotter.
My fat already started shutting itself off during gaming when it's this hot. I'm not sure I think that was...

X360 has had it's heavy hitters launched for sure. PS3 has it's biggest exclusive coming this November in the form of GT5. You have no idea how big of an impact that will have on the PS3. That one game alone will make the PS3 win over x360 in sales and that's only 6 months after it was released.

the lag these games are bound to have. I can tell you lag is a game killer if it has to be taken into consideration in gameplay. Casual or no casual. In time it'll start to bother people.
By all means get Kinect and have as much fun with your family with it as possible. It doesn't look like it'll last long though. Reason = LAG!

There it is. This is the point. It is mandatory to install the games on x360 unless you want to listen to the DVD-drive of the x360 which is NOISY as hell.
It's all fine and dandy to be able to install full games on the x360 but you really cannot take the whole "most of the install base of the x360 has only 13GB of space" out of the equation.

That's the price probably most parents get their kids live for here in Finland (and I think the price is about the same elsewhere too). Doesn't matter how much you get it cheaper for if you look around. Do you actually think most of the people (parents and careermen and women) are going to care to look around for something like this?
