I am sure any company will does that, will be in real life trouble like death real attacks and will be in tough industry and political situation. I am done with yellow-medium-quality theme, Demon Souls was always and still my best experience along with Bloodborne. Dark Souls didn't felt original to me for some reason, although it much developed especially with the sequels.
It really depends, if the rest of SE is doing this, it will be flat experience with meh story. If it the Japanese SE it will take years and it will be good until SE intervene and ruin it and make it a hell of miss just like XV. If SE CEOs leave it be as xIv:RR and VIIR it will be a great game.
But these 3 didn't make as much money as Shark accounts, we can't blame a company for targeting easy money like Fortnite, COD, FIFA, and GTAO. We must start a big wave that calling for customer awareness, until then we have that "ooh it's my money and I will do anything I want even if it harming indirectly the overall quality of the industry".
Tbh, I start play outbreak first then 4 and 5 then came back to classics, and so on, and I really loved most RE except that FPS Umbrela flop and 6. I tried 7 and replayed it in VR. It was something new, and of course implemented we can feel the enforced plot at the end to call it RE. However, it was a real horror game that has very good elements and revived the genre + gave new direction.
Exactly, maybe there are two parties when it come to VIIR with a one saying "no we want exact remake" and the the other "we are good as far as not too complicated like KH or another meh spin off style", but at least the majority is agreeing that the remake is reviving FF as great and impactful RPG. It is literally there with Horizon, The Witcher 3 and Persona 5.
Only Square Enix saved a multiplayer game from total failure to huge success which is the transition from xIv to xIv: Realm Reborn. I doubt a western developers like EA can offer that, I mean the company literally killed Mass Effect, Need For Speed and Battlefield. Mass Effect could stand up to be ranked best shooter RPG, Need For Speed could compete with Forza Horizon, Battlefield could killed COD for good during that EXO suits era. Add to that they killed Titan Fall which is far superior an...
Add to that, a lot of what had be shown in Trailers since Versus XIII to XV are not part of the game, not even with half dozen of story DLCs and festivals and upgrades. XV 2013 trailer is far superior to the final Alpha product. Nothing in XV is complete except models and textures.
PS Now is here for more than 5 years and yet not available for everyone. + We need powerful GPU in 5 that doesn't show differences as much as pro and X.

Ps2 Spiderman 3 is exactly the same game Spiderman 2 but with new models and refinements and another story.
Yeah almost same graphics that thing barely hold up as high end PS3 game.
Everything else is replaceable except FFVIIR part 2, and MGS remake that will make PS5 trend forever with showing the console.
I mean sure it is great, but FFVII part 2 or totally enhanced part 1 would make it day one for me.

Western RPGs are lame and incomparable to FF, DQ, KH, Nier Auto, Persona etc. With few exceptions like GOW, The Witcher 3 and couple of others.

XV will made a lot of enhancements if it reimagined "ehm back to Versus XIII fellows".
