How do you know they won't be better? BF4 couldn't manage 1080p on the PS4 so its clearly not some box of infinite power.
All we can take from DX12 is that it will increase the power of the xbox. We can't conclusively assume it'll be on a par with the ps4....it might be better or worse

Honestly mate I might have agreed with you about 3 months ago, but can't anymore.
You're focus is on games so I'll address that.
On the one hand you cry about old ip being all that xbox offers (yet infamous and uncharted don't count for the ps4), but then don't consider the likes of Titanfall (didn't impress me intially but after a few hours playing I'm now addicted) to be appealing.

I would be wary of the hype machine around this game. It has potential but I dont want to buy it and end up disappointed. So I'll keep my expectations low for now
I played the demo and its quote fun. If I'm bored and need to do something with somebody who doesn't game its a perfect time killer.
I think kinect has a good future. The 2 games that excite me are FRU and D4.
I think FRU especially will show the value of the hardware. Such a simple game that looks great!
One of the best games i've played in a long time. But I've already completed it and I dont see the point in spending another €60 to play it with perhaps a higher fps or some more pixels (I dont have a ps4 so dont have the choice anyway).
This is a last gen game people (one of the best), and you now have next gen systems.
It looks fantastic. (I loved sky go on the 360) I think we're seeing that the xb1 was brought out a year early. Its only now we're starting to see what the xb1 should really be capable of.
More and more good news stories regarding the 1 have been coming out, and I expect this trend to continue all the way to e3.

My understanding is they are doing away with spark power which makes you pay $1 for 24 hours of play - now I don't know about you guys but the new MGS game is 1-4 hours long depending how good you are. MGS went ddown well on this site and the price was €60.
So if you think of value based on cost vs time - it p**sses all over MGS and most other games.

The problem with 7/10 is its a very common score now and is hence mediocre. I would agree that a mediocre game should be 5/10 but that means its average. 7 might actually be lower than average.... (3 of the last 4 ign reviews were 7.8 or higher). When 7/10 is the most common score for a game then that becomes where the bar is set.
Its a stupid system to me, but I think reviewers are far too happy to give out points.

If I'm buying a game today it will be Titanfall or PVZ. MGS never appealed to me BUT all the hype would have swayed my interest. I will not however support their shameless exploitation of MGS starved gamers.

I will never buy the MG game unless theres a serious price drop. Does anyone remember the 'half a game' stick Titanfall was getting? Now MGS sells loads with an hour long game.
Should I buy PVZ or Titanfall..... I'm a big BF fan and PVZ appeals to me more than Titanfall but there is the hype around it to consider.
I will of course get 100% disagrees but for me, PVZ looks like the most fun exclusive on eithe...
What is the deal with porting past gen games to this gen. I didn't want it for 360 and I don't want it for XB1.
Devs are getting lazy and I'm not liking it. It seems like theres more profit for them to make a demo (MGS:GZ) or remaking an old game (Tomb Raider).
They won't be getting my money anyway. I hope the rest of the community vote with their wallets against this practice too
Edge gave it a mediocre score also. IMO the majority of reviewers are biased or have something to gain from reviews - either they're gamers who want a title to be good, or they don't want to p**s off a dev so they can get exclusive access in the future.
I do think that ps4 owners want a system seller out badly and they are wrongly hailing this as it (same with Titanfall for xbox owners).

The stronger one gets, the other will have to keep up. When XB raises its game it indirectly benefits PS gamers and vice versa because it gives the other company a kick up the backside.
The graphical arm race is one that gamers benefit from.
As a side note....if MS follow through with their cloud claims (like it appears they have done with their DX12 claims) then the XB1 will be a monster

DX12 is the same. Its been announced as a new tech, but devs need time to make games using it. You really should know that.
Too many techs like Nvidia AMD and Intel have hailed it to be BS.
