Heavy Rain works because failure doesn't ever mean you have to repeat a sequence -- the game continues and forces you to live with the consequences. Shigenori Nishikawa...are you paying attention?

I miss the old text adventure games like Zork -- those were titles that (usually) never even considered violence as an option.
