What? Gaming on iOS devices is not broken, especially because people play games on their iPods/iPhones/iPads more than doing any other activity!
Another vote for X-Wing or Tie Fighter!
Not necessarily. I'll use X-Com as an example:
You can fail the tactical missions in the game (i.e., every soldier in your squad dies) and the game keeps going. It's a minor setback because after the mission, you have the option (if you have the resources) to rebuild/retrain your squad.
But these failures are tracked, and if you fail often enough, the funding countries will lower their contribution to your efforts, which makes the game a little bit mo...
Um...don't we already have this game? (Half-Life 2's multiplayer.) Those're some big shoes to fill.
That image with the Tomonobu Itagaki heads is really creepy.
I'd like to see games employ more interesting fail states than just "game over" whenever the player doesn't succeed.
Certainly, we can have a more granular scale here, i.e., some failures might be a minor setback while others could be the end of the game.
Haven't just one fail state (death) just isn't that interesting, and it jarringly breaks the narrative too often.
Never heard of World Heroes...guess I know why now.
This just makes me want to play Monster Hunter. Great Swords, ahoy!
Sorry, but people get way too uptight about clones. You can't own ideas, and if someone can take your idea and executes it in better and more interesting ways, then that's called innovation. The industry risks stagnating, otherwise.
I fear I will one day be priced out of video games. Well, maybe just consoles. I'll still have cool, cheap indie games on PC!
Even...Quantum Theory?!
Man, Space Hulk was awesome. Why doesn't Relic remake that game?!
I don't think I can go back to that. Definitely prefer SF4.
Hmm...can the dimension-shifting mechanic alone propel this game forward? I'm doubtful. The portal gun was that game's gimmick, but the game also had some really memorable narrative qualities that really made it stand out.
Hopefully Quantum Conundrum won't rely entirely on the gimmick....
I cannot wait to dual-wield miniguns! And what's the crazy-awesome looking mech? I'll take one of those, too.
So...we've come a long way?
The next evolution for Scrabble?
I see what you did there...non-sucking Sonic games have been "Nintendo-ified."
Really looking forward to Dead State. I've been following its development since the announcement.
Wow. Very moving. Hope she's going to be OK.
