That Farpoint game will have double the resolution of the standard mode, so yeah, it'll probably make a big difference for most VR games, though they haven't said anything for any of the others yet and not gave any more detail than that, which was Cerny saying it during the conference.

It's kinda hard to compare the differences to something that's a year away... But I suppose you have to play the victim, as is the fanboy tradition.

I'm waiting to see if it'll have any benefits to people who don't have or want a 4K TV, if they actually significantly improve the experience I'll buy one with Horizon, if not I'm happy waiting until they are sub £300.

Their lineup is less sparse than MS' or Nintendo's has been for the last 8 months and I don't remember that being a problem, but fanboys and their double standards I guess.

Except it doesn't just upscale games, but hey probably for the best you stay in blissful ignorants, you'd probably have a meltdown if you read the DF article.

@mkis007

I think MS will sell it at a loss, and go for a $450 price point, I really doubt they'll give both Nintendo and Sony an almost year headstart, then try and release a console in the $500-$600+ range. I also think the Scorpio will come up against a $199 Slim and $299 Pro (NX probably a similar price point too) when it's released, so would be a tough sell if it's close to double that.

The Last of Us will be native 4K too. So that should give us a good idea on what will and won't be native 4K capable.

"we were told that The Last of Us Remastered - just like its base PS4 version - will have a 30Hz mode that features enhanced image quality. The existing PS4 game features higher resolution shadows maps and those are joined by a full, native 4K pixel count on the PS4 Pro."

All game supporting supersampling for 1080p only users is really nice to hear, just need to hear how it'll improve performance for me to get kinda interested now. Sony shouldn't have just focused on 4K and HDR at the meeting imo, as most won't benefit as much from that.

Yeah, her hands would be pretty much done for, but it's better than climbing down again I guess, so I can suspend my disbelief for it.

We need to know more first to know exactly, but it's probably some weird custom resolution, then whatever Sony's solution is, takes it to the rest of the way, it's what ME: Andromeda was doing, so not native 4K, but not just upscaled either, 4K-ish I guess.

@Pimp

I doubt Sony think most will either, just the more hardcore PS users and those looking for a console to break in their new 4K TV, small market sure, but probably still big enough to sell 10s of millions in it's first year. Also, It's still a good bit more powerful than any of the other consoles on the market and will be for at least a 8-12 months, so the price is fine, I wouldn't be surprised if it gets a price drop to $350 within the first year either. ...

If you already have a UHD 4K player why do you even care? Maybe they didn't include one, because they knew it was pointless, as the people who actually want that, already have a dedicated device that can do it, so would rather get it under that $400 mark instead, still a stupid and selfish move sure, but make sense, as it's more profit for them and a lower price for consumers.

As for your drop the price of the OG PS4 point. The OG PS4 is more expensive to make than the ...

They haven't really said how it will handle framerate, if getting to (or close to) 4K is unachievable. I am hoping they go the Rise of The Tomb Raider route, which will have a 4K mode, a mode that prioritises frame rate and one that's locked at 30, but maxes out the graphics.

The part that has me scratching my head the most about it, is UHD Bluray is Sony's tech, yet they seem to be the least supportive of it.

3465d ago 1 agree1 disagreeView comment

For kids/budget gamers, it's just a much cheaper (to make) PS4. I am surprised at how much hardware they are releasing so close together though.

They aren't even close to being in the same position, you'd have to have an impressively short memory to think that, or be blind to negative Xbox news, as they were getting ripped to shreds by everyone for pretty much everything they announced. Meanwhile, some people are upset the PS4 Pro won't support UHD Bluray and that it's not a mega powerful super console (which Sony never promised) they thought it would be.

As for the apparent overwhelming negativity p...

I really doubt EA will be doing a timed exclusive game ever again. At most maybe a little VR thing, but that's kinda understandable at the moment.

3465d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

You should really do a little bit of research before claiming something has a problem. The point of the Neo and Scorpio is to play PS4/XB1 games at a higher quality. They won't have exclusive games is all.

It's not like they are doing an event tomorrow or anything either, PSNeo, more like PSNOSEEO!

They also released a little trailer too, with some new environments and gameplay. Swear this game constantly keeps looking better every time they show it.
