Considering with the Windows 8.1 update that it's essentially the same UI experience as Win 7, I don't see what your complaint is. Most people that complain just refuse to learn new ways to do things in Win 8. If you really hate it so much you should switch to Ubuntu or iOS.

If you played the 3rd one you got to see some of Cole's backstory and it made him a more well rounded character. They did a very good job at showing how basically everything he had and was, was taken from him on Emergence Day.
