Well, it's a double edged sword really. Unless you truly have enough units to meet demand, you will never know how much demand there really is, other than 'more than now'.
We can always speculate and use estimation techniques of course, but we really don't know.

TLOU was a good game but can we let this go? It's been several days, everyone knows the VGX was a joke anyway. The amount of tears over a video game not winning one award but winning another... it's stunning really. I think you guys need a reality check. There are a lot more important things in life to get worked up over than this.

It's like watching the VMAs and wondering why Britney Spears won again. It's because it sold many units. That's all these awards shows are generally about. They give a nod to the little guy to make it look like they're balanced but in the end it's about AAA titles that sold ridiculous numbers and made people filthy rich.
