I keep forgetting how many great games are coming next year, I want over half of those on that list. Gaming is costing lots this gen. I have 84 blu-ray games so far and I'm estimating I'll have over 120 by this time next year. It is nice to see all my games lined up and able to choose from many different ones. It's a good job that gaming is my only hobby, I couldn't afford to do anything else.
I love car racing games and have bought lots this gen for my PS3. I have GT5, GT5p, NFS:HP, NFS:PS, NFS:Shift, F1:CE, F1 2010, Motorstorm, Motorstorm:PR, Burnout Paradise, DIRT 1 and 2, GRID, Midnight Club:LA, Ferrari Challenge, Supercar Challenge, Split Second and finally Blur. Out of all those, GT5 is my favourite. I prefer playing sim games with wheel and pedals. I love most driving games though and have spent hundreds of hours playing all those games above.
I've noticed the standard cars aren't as nice looking but they are better than those pictures make out. Those photo's make standard cars look twice as bad as they really are. They look way nicer on my HDTV.
I like both games Shift and GT5. I play both games with cockpit/hood view and a logitech GT wheel/pedals. GT5 is way more realistic physics wise and also better looking. Shift is a great game though and I have no complaints about it really but GT5 is better.
GT5 and Medal of Honor are great games IMO, don't know about the others though, not played them.
I agree with bunfighterii that Just Cause2 is another fantastic game that came out this year.
I am thinking about getting NFS:HP tonight. But with playing GT5 I cant see me playing it much just yet. It has been getting some great review scores so it will be another game to add to my collection.
I haven't been online in GT5 yet, but I soon will. I loved online play on prologue so am looking forward to trying GT5 out online.
Any update is good news. Its nice to know they are still trying to make the game even better.
I'm not too bothered about damage myself as I drive as not to damage my car if possible. It's nice to have damage but not neccessary.
I can tell the difference between Premium/Standard cars but its not a disaster or gamebreaking at all. I love this game so much its unbelievable.
I have had a little screen tearing and PS3 has frozen twice so far, had to reset PS3 when it freezes.
I think this game is amazing anyhow, a few little bugs etc here and there is expected in the first few weeks of release, they should get patched soon enough. Not enough bugs to spoil the enjoyment at all.
It is one of the best games I have ever played and the best driving simulator I have ever played. Was worth the wait and will take up hundreds of hours playtime in the futu...
I will be buying GT5 around midnight but not from GAME or Gamestation. I'll be at Tesco, Its cheaper there and will be empty.
I go to supermarkets at just after midnight if I'm really wanting a game. I will be at Tesco in aroud 3 hours (midnight) for GT5.
Looks like Tesco for me £35.90. Only 5hours 15minutes to midnight. Tesco is open 24/7 so i'll be there at 12pm.
It would be great to have smell-o-vision with this. Having the smell of burning rubber while spinning the wheels would be cool.
I will be getting this collection one day as I've never played them, but GT5 is first. Also want NFS:HP and Ass/Creed:Bhood.
I will be going to Tesco's on Wednesday for my copy. I never bother pre-ordering games as I can always find a shop that sells a game on release day. We have so many shops/supermarkets that sells games that you can always find any game on day 1.
If Tesco sold out, there's always Asda, Sainsburys, Morrissons and many other shops that will have it.
On day one late at night I was playing COD:BO and in the ticker at the bottom of the screen it said just over 1.1million online gamers. I'm in UK.
Got my refurb PS3 today, which is great.

I am assuming I have got my last 2 refurbs for free as the first one cost £145. I'm hoping this one lasts me now I'm on my 4th one. I do keep them clean and well ventilated, none of them has had even 1 scratch on them. Just seem to be a little unlucky, although I have used them a lot, I have over 80 games on blu-ray and played 1000's of hours.
P.S. I have to wait around 5-6 weeks to get NFS:Shift disc...
I'm glad there isn't any games I want coming in December. Will give me a little more money to play with for the holidays. I have spent loads lately on games, just the last few weeks I have bought MOH, COD:BO, NFS:HP and GT5.
I know next year I want lots more games, so December will give me a little break from buying and let me catch up on some games that need more playing, eg GT5.
