Can we stop with "next-gen" now?
The Wii U, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are all out, making them the "current-gen" platforms, replacing Wii, PS3 and 360, which are now "last-gen".
"Next-gen" now should be used when talking about the possible Wii U 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox One 2.
Would love it if Sony (as well as MS and Nintendo) would update their stores constantly, ala Steam.
I hate the needless wait for store refreshes. There should always be a fresh stream of content and price changes, IMO.
During moments like last night, where I wanted to rage-kill zombies in Dead Rising 3 but also watch the Sunday night NFL game, Xbox One allowed me to do both.
I will say that, while snapping is cool, the inability to change the volume for the snapped windows sucks. I wanted to turn down Dead Rising 3 and listen to the football game (all I was doing was killing; no need to hear) and I couldn't. Hopefully that gets patched.
Snapping is a great feature wit...
Same here!
Couldn't be happier with them as they are both spectacular consoles.
Pretty silly "attack":
"Why settle for 720p "next-gen" games when almost every PS4 game supports full native 1080p?"
So is Sony saying that only the PS4 games that run in native 1080p are next-gen games? What does that say about the games on PS4 that aren't? Are they not next-gen? Are they not worth buying?
Stupid and unnecessary dig, IMO.
Coming from a PS4 owner and who has an XBO coming ...
Xbox One Controller vs Dual Shock 4.
Winner: gamers
As a PS4 owner I can happily say that, IMO, the DS4 is incredible and, while I won't have my XBO until Friday, I have felt the XBO pad and it, too, is, IMO, incredible.
Two amazing input devices right here, folks.
Nowhere in the email does it state that these are "Day One Editions".
Remember, "Day One Edition" is a special Xbox One, which differs from getting it on day one, as in launch day. Not all Xbox Ones that get sold on launch day will be the specially branded "Day One Editions".
Doesn't mean they won't be; just stating that the email does not state that they are.
Looking forward to picking up my XBO this Friday, and, hell, I'm even excited to try out the voice recognition of Kinect, but that demonstration was awful.
"Xbox :Go to: Discovery channel" - Xbox shows football (ESPN?). WTF?
Doesn't dampen my excitement because I have seen it work better but, again, that demonstration was awful.
Definitely a game I'm looking forward to getting later on when its price matches my interest (about $30).
Will absolutely pick this up after I get through some of the PS4 games I just got, and some of the XBO games I'll get on Friday.
What a hell of a time to be a gamer, eh guys!
I don't know whether or not this is reportable, but I sure as hell won't approve it.
Disappointment? By shattering records? What a joke. Sensationalist headline for sure.
Story and site get a "WTF" and "No" from me.
EDIT: Changed my mind. Reported for being so lame and, frankly, embarrassingly stupid.
This week will be long for me. On Friday, however, it will all be worth it with the launch of PS4.
Next week will be easier to stomach because, as I wait to buy the Xbox One next Friday, I will have PS4 to keep me company.
Take some time from the harsh and ugly comments on this and various other sites and stop to realize the awesomeness that is upon us. In mere days the next generation of gaming begins. New hardware, new IP, new ideas, a new start for gamin...
An embarrassingly huge percentage, sadly.
No-brainer for me: 11/15 and 11/22.
Exactly.
"Gamers" are in their spite mode right now. Doesn't matter what Microsoft does right now, "gamers" will spew forth toxic venom regardless.
The hate comments I've been reading of late make me not want to visit any comment section any more. Some of you are such a drag that you ruin the experience of chatting with other gamers here.
Even though it won't change anything, I must plead with you all to back...
both 4 me on day One
Both will have awesome games and experiences. As a lover of video games I must own all of the consoles to make sure that I don't miss out.
PS4 w/Killzone and AC IV on 11/15...
...and...
XBO w/Dead Rising 3 and maybe Ryse on 11/22
Game on, gamers!
No, they're not.
If you think EA is the worst game company out there, I can understand that (even if I don't agree).
But saying they are the worst overall company in America is absolutely ridiculous and, frankly, shows you have no understanding of what goes on in the real world.
Anyone who votes EA the worst company in America really needs to pay attention to what's going in the real world.
This guy always does more harm than anything. Amazing that MS keeps him around.
He actively damages the brand. At least that's how I see it.
"Once the dust settles". When "NDA are up". "Blah". "Blah". "Blah".
Albert, just stop. You're making an already bad situation even worse.
As a day one buyer of Xbox One, I don't feel any entitlement to a handout whatsoever.
When you buy on day one you buy knowing the risks. The risks include bugs/glitches, lack of new games for a while and, yes, the possibility that the price could drop or promotions could be added to entice new buyers. If you cannot accept those risks, don't buy upon release.
I've been having fun with my XBO since 11/22. It's been totally worth my $500. Tha...
