At least the MLB the show team is unaffected. It still sucks for people to loss their jobs though as it is estimated to be around 50 people that got laid off. Best of luck to them.
In an interview with Polygon, a ex-San Diego staffer told them that those working on Kill Strain and another, unannounced project were terminated, with Kill Strain ceasing production immediately.
So it is more like Sony is canceling a current project and cut loss on another new Project/IP.

Nitrowolf, I know Tomb Raider has different settings, however, no other game present at Sony's PS4 Pro hands-on event in NY appeared to allow for a boosted frame rate. Uncharted 4, Mass Effect: Andromeda, Infamous: Second Son, Infamous: First Light, Horizon: Zero Dawn, and Shadow of Mordor will all run at 30fps on both PS4 and PS4 Pro as was already confirmed by Sony. Also, Naughty Dog already said PS4 Pro games with Online MP will not have different frame rates than the standard PS4 when...
I know the PS4 Pro version is not native 4K but about 1440p. But what I am saying is instead of forcing developers to display the highest resolution the Pro can handle, I surely hope Sony allows developers to use the standard native 1080p while increasing frame rate and effects. The checkerboard scaling of resolution higher than 1080p isn't comparable to native 4K as seen here.
And the title and writeup of this story is misleading. The 'industry source' did not say the PS4 Pro current blu-ray drive will be upgraded to a UHD 4K drive via firmware.
This is the actual quote via the original source. "Today, however, our industry sources tell us that Sony Consumer Electronics doesn’t want a UHD-capable PlayStation 4 Pro to undercut sales of its forthcoming set-top 4K Ultra HD Blu-ra...
I didn't expect the 4K showing to be so lopsided. The native 4K version on the PC is so detail and clear with all special effects turned on while the PS4 Pro 4K showing is blurry, loss of texture details, and no light source effect in certain scenes, in comparison.
The question remains why is Sony forcing higher resolution with the expense of sacrificing higher frame rate and effects when the screen quality on a 4V TV display by the PS4 Pro is not that much better than ...
Genuine-User, Checkerboard reconstruction is indeed a form of upscaling. Digital Foundry already talked about it in one of their articles about Neo a couple months ago.
They even said checkerboard is an upscaling technique here
"An overview of a 2x2 checkerboard upscaling technique as revealed by Valve in relation to optimising performance in VR. In essence, it upscales a 2x2 pixel structure into a 4x4 block, cutting the base rendering requirement by half in t...
Frosty, you just copied and pasted bogus info from Jeff Rigby of Neogaf and made a story out of it.
The original claim by Rigby was that there is a secret sauce and patent on BD that will allow both PS4 and Xbox One to magically transform their BD into UHD 4K players. That was in 2015. He was dismissed and his thread was locked for a reason by the mods of Neogaf because it is fake and rediculous.
I don't know about you but getting to race in an open world racing game every 2 year with different locations, settings, each one is bigger than the previous installment with the latest being in Australia and twice the map size as Southern Europe sure beats having a racing game that comes out once a blue moon with delays of multiple times and launch with broken, missing features. And a Sim racing coming out every other alternative year is also great as that sure beats out a racer that onl...
Is this a satire story? No Man’s Sky has nothing similiar to GTA in terms of fun, gameplay, variety, story, longivity. The only thing they have in common is that both are created by studios in the UK. There is a reason why GTAV is still selling for almost full price and is still at the top of the gaming charts after all these months since release while No Man's Sky dropped like a rock after a week since launch and can be had for a song for used at Gamestop.
