Well, to be considered the best sprinter/swimmer/etc in the world you usually need to break the Olympic record only once and hold to it... this is why sport metaphors aren't always consistent :)

Perhaps what you wanted to say is that *the average* moment in crysis isn't as good looking as *the average* moment in other top games - That's a completely different story. But you compared *the worst* moments in Crysis 2 to looking like *the average* moments in other gam...

Yeah, this makes sense. I guess this is why the Kinect which was released this year is only the fastest selling entertainment product in history, why the 3DS went out of stock the day it was released, why COD BLOPS because the best selling game ever in the US and why thusands of people line up for a new 600$ Ipod/Iphone/Ipad every year (period)

@Istanbull
that's only because you're too narrow minded and ignorant to know all the amazing games the XBLA has to offer.

"Some have rumored this move is done so Sony can charge for the use of PSN"

That's the stupidest thing I heard all week. The wacko who posted this actually thinks that A company is not legally allowed to charge money for a network service unless the company has the word "network" in the name!?

This sounds even dumber considering the fact that Sony already charges for premium services. Hopefully they will keep online multiplayer free fo...

At it's best, Crysis 2 looks better than any other console game I've seen thus far. Though, at it's worst it can look very average.

And isn't that enough to qualify a game for being best overall? If your game looks average in its worst moments and better then anything in its best moments - it pretty much makes it best.

Because if you take a good game - any top game - you can always find better moments and worse moments throughout the whole gam...

It's mostly not the devlopers who "whine" - it's the shitty websites that take thing out of context, write up bombastic headlines with nothing to back it up, misunderstand technological concepts and write things that are basically wrong, mix up rumors with facts and motsly don't validate their sources or do any research.

Is it a surprise that many of the developers complain about total crap sites like CVG who are known for their complete lack of proper j...

@Vherostar

what you're saying makes as much sense as saying the opposite: that the only people who don't think its the best looking ps3 game are PS3 fanboys as if it was it would mean the PS3 is sub-par to the X360 graphically.
After all, from comparisons it shows that the game has the edge on the X360.

I love it how people love to make unbiased claims that games like AW would have sold better on the PS3, and how Sony "thinks outside the box" with unique games...

Heavy rain, echochrome, ico, fat princess, littlebigplanet are all nice. but are they that unique? And is Sony the only company promoting unique games?
There's nothing unique or revolutionary in Heavy Rain, at least if you're educated enough to know Indigo Prophecy. Heavy...

Dude is completely clueless and doesn't know what a beta is for: it's not created for you to feel "exclusive" or "unique", it's a tool for the developers of the game in order to improve it. This basically mean that you are *volunteering* to participate in an experiment and provide feedback - if you don't like it then simply don't join.

Most public betas anyway are all about load balancing and stress testing - not for vocaling your opin...

Yeah, the more I look at it, the more it looks lke some water effect. But something is jut wrong with it, it doesn't look like similar effects in other games but like there is something tearing the image.

And after you do that, better go play the second and third games. RF Guerrilla was not the first in the series you know :)

Define irony: Article discussing the side effects of a copyright related lawsuit infringes Geohots copyrights to his own picture by copying it without even giving credit :)

This comparison article it wrong on so many levels...

I'm not talking about the actual intent to compare them. These two games are probably as close to each other as it gets gameplay wise: big environments as opposed to most linear corrider shooting + balanced weapon sandbox that forces you to make difficult choices + various abilities to choose from that spice up the gameplay.

If you love the style of one of them you're bound to love the other and I ...

Wow, the enemy comparison really shows how Killzone 3 textures and model complexion is sub par.

But again, what's the point of this comparison if you are picking up bullshots and not proper screen grabs, and don't even bother to choose pics at the same resolution?

FFS, you even put here a screenshot from the Reach multiplayer beta. If you don't know how to put up a proper comparison then simply don't bother...

Is that vertical tearing in the PC screengrab? I can actually see vertical lines in the ripples.

Something is really wrong with their screen capture. Or is that supposed to be some kind of on-HUD water effect? Either way it's messed up. Will once again wait for the DF comparison

That's actually what we GOT in Forza 3 eventually - The Forza 3 ultimate edition contains over 500 cars.
It's a no brainer that they can simply import them into the new game.

@Vherostar
There are tons of HD remakes on the 360, and the last one appeared just recently: Beyond good & Evil.

The only difference is that these remakes get a reasonable 10$ price tag in XBLA, and don't force you to buy a 40$ multi game compilation even if you want just one game.

Na, unfortunately it won't be Ryu from Ninja Gaiden, because he's also part of a competing franchise from Tecmo (Dead or Alive).
It also won't be Master Chief, because Microsoft wants to keep the Halo universe Canon in video games (some unrelated Spartan might be possible, just like they did with Dead or Alive).

Something from the Gears universe is most likely:
1) the Cogs just fit perfectly into Mortal Kombat gore-wise. Lancer fatalities are a no ...

Slight tweaks = adding deployable equipment button, refining dual wielding etc.
If you tweak two much, it won't be the same game anymore. For example, adding "iron sights" to halo like you have in COD, Killzone and battlefield is more then a slight tweak and changes the game mechanics completely.

dramatic innovation = Xbox live support in Halo 2, adding forge mode & theater mode in Halo 3 etc.
These are not related to game mechanics, but inst...
