What do you want? The only reason MVC2 had so many characters was because Capcom had a decades worth of 2D sprites to rip off for the game. Look at it - most of them are ancient.
That's not to say that was a BAD thing, but there's no option to reuse old models in MvC3- it is pretty much all new. You expect too much.
I would love to see a remake of the first two Clock Tower games on a next-gen console. Really clever and the second one could only be improved by redoing it with better graphics and voice acting.
