That's certainly less ridiculous. I hate 100 point scales. What is a 98? How is it better than a 97?
If you want to argue that violence against children should never be a topic in a video game, I hope that you never make the argument that games can be art. It is a morally fragile position.
I respect that certain topics can be triggers for negative or painful emotions. Torture scenes, immolation, and violent against women are a sure turn off for me. But either you respect that video games are capable of telling a story about an endangered child or you don't respect the me...
This year's EVO proved there is definitely an audience for highly competitive fighting games. It was a blast and I hope to see it expand.
Maybe they don't want a love triangle, but I still want to see Chloe back. I love her; she's not evil by any means, but she's practical and reacts the same way I would to a lot of the BS the game throws your way.
If you really want a Billy Joel song that won't make the drummer and the guitar player COMPLETELY want to throw themselves in front of a train due to boredom, Miami 2017 works pretty well.
ahahahahhahahahahahahahahah what.
My roommates videocard died this way just yesterday.
and now he's late on utilities because he had to buy a new card. THANKS BLIZZARD
Heavy Rain is the obvious counter, but there's a point in the idea that games can't handle drama. Heavy Rain really tugged at the heart strings and did a decent job of letting players control characters in a contemplative, emotional way. But eventually, the game ended up about "Save person x, kill person y."
I don't think we're ever going to see a "hard" drama like Mad Men or Sophie's Choice or whatever on a game console any time soon...
Disagree if you think I made up the fact that i am playing Alan Wake right now.
No (GAME X)? This list is clearly not a valid opinion piece!
You should probably ask for a proper ending.
I'm playing it right now for the first time and it is pretty fun :)
Are we seriously allowed to put up our eBay items now? I was thinking about getting rid of Darksiders, can I make an article?
Lazy gamer indeed.
I don't care if it won 5000 awards, all I know is that when Nathan Drake and I started screaming the exact same things at the exact same time while helicopters shot missiles at me, I knew this game was special.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm all about calling out fanboy circle jerks, but what's a better game in 2009 than Uncharted 2? MW2? If you're complaining about Uncharted being unoriginal you should probably hate every new COD game to come out.
SF4? Okay. I know I've logged more hours as a World Warrior than in Uncharted, but it certainly didn't give me any engaging thrills like the adventure in U2.
Batman Arkham Asylum? Maybe.
Uncha...
Anyone who bitches about Uncharted 2 probably doesn't deserve to own video games.
Image just makes me want to play Duck Tales on the NES.
I'm all for the occasional hateful review, but I can't help but wish this feature was actually interviewing the designers behind flawed or failed games instead of just insulting them. I think that would be an interesting conversation if they both just want to sit down, talk about what was wrong, and hear some behind the scenes gamemaking stories.
I'm shamed you quoted my embarrassing typo :|
