The problem with involving religion with a game is that you have (as a developer) to take a stance and people won't be happy either way! If you choose to support that there is a God then it might end up like Battlestar Galatica, and if not it'll just be the usual atheism ego stroke that religion is a bad thing (e.g. witcher 3). There isn't much of a middle ground, better leave it alone i say!
