Well, I read some more and it wasn’t so much the story part that he protested but the way Ubisoft portrayed japan. Wrong flowers, wrong building interior and exterior, wrong armor, wrong flags, wrong way of sitting, and suspected AI generated images. It’s like the studio just asked chatGPT how japan looked like in that era instead of doing research with actual japan historian.

It was always a misdirection to begin with, a program to excuse themselves from their lack of good exclusives, one that is burning a lot of money. Now that the exclusives are actually coming it’s inevitable they’ll slowly recoup the losses one way or another. Unless you’re a blind bat it was obvious since day one (heh) that the program isn’t sustainable.

Eh let’s just see. I liked the previous fables, even the 3rd one, but this one really screams that “tailored for modern audience” vibe… and most games that did that ended up like saints row or forspoken. Definitely gonna wait for reviews first.
Development length also contributes to this unfortunately. It’s inevitable to have fewer games released since it takes longer to make games. For example there’s only 3 years between the release of FFVII - IX (97,99,00). Nowadays it takes even longer to make a single one.
In my country it’s literally the only high performance console around. The only other console is Switch but their library is quite different so either people have both or they buy whatever suit their taste, no actual direct competition.
The green team isn’t even in the race because they’re the only one who don’t have official distributor in my country. Maybe NA/UK fans of xbox need to step out into the world sometimes and see the rest of the world is an xbox graveyard.
Well I don’t mind more HD-2D games.. preferably something like FFVI, Chrono Trigger, or Xenogears.
Also everytime I play with my handheld PC (Rog Ally) or 3rd party controller (such as from 8bitdo), the steam apps recognized it as Xbox controller. So the numbers of actual Xbox controller is definitely lower than the article stated.
If the remake quality is as good as their Star Ocean 2 remake, it’s a day one for me

I'm in south east asia and they don't even have an official distributor in my country while sony and nintendo do. Whoever's in charge of spending really need to be fired lmao, spending billions on studios to prevent them coming to PS, only to later backtrack and release them on PS anyway. All this while ignoring basic logistics and marketing. If they're independent from MS they would've gone under a long time ago.
