Huh, there's a PS4 version here in Asia. Was gonna preorder that version but I've played the PC version demo on my Ally and it's good enough for turn based game, so portable mode it is for me.
Elden Ring was like that too.. I’ve platinumed Elden Ring using the PS4 version on PS5.
The good ol' just prioritize making the game as good as possible.
Sadly for the west, geeks on executive level have mostly been replaced with finance or management dudes and it shows. When the decision makers never even play games, BS like player retention, monetization, and corporate agenda intervere with game making decisions.
@343 because of the brand name, and because they can handle the financial risk if it fails.
But when we talk about medium to small sized studios, oftentimes when they release game it's their studios fate on the line. They have to weigh carefully whether or not the resource spent worth the potential profit they'll get when porting to a platform.
In fact, there are lots of example of games releasing on 1 or 2 platform first to see gamers' recep...
Made by the minds behind Persona 3, 4, and 5. I’ve said it before that this will be a GOTY contender, and they have no doubt deliver.
So hear me out, 2 SKUs like series X and S but the weaker one is portable, like a steam deck or rog ally. And it can double as a second screen like WiiU , or multiple can be connected for local multiplayer, like Switch.
This dude is on every starfield articles fighting people who say something even remotely bad about the game lmao, you're the vocal minority man.
For every person that thinks it's god tier, there are thousands who think it's meh, get over it 🤣
Because Ubisoft has been teaching gamers not to become their beta testers. I’m not touching any Ubisoft games unless it’s a $30 complete edition. Their gameplay is samey anyway, you’re not missing out on anything by waiting a few months.
Same, I finished the original back on a 21" crt tv while being scared all the time. I don't think I can do another playthrough in a big HD screen. Zombies like TLoU or RE is fine, but I'm getting too old for atmospheric mental horror like this lmao.
Dude's getting excited for a showcase of a demo of a chapter of a mode of a game that was supposed to release 8 years ago lmao.
Watch as the dev completely remade squadron 42 from the ground up "after extensive feedback from the event" and make you wait another 20 years for another chapter 1 demo hahaha.
Metaphor from the creators of Persona 3, 4, and 5.. now that is a GOTY contender.
Mate it’s a product, every product is just a simple question of whether your profit is bigger than the production cost. It’s as simple as they don’t make banks when porting to XB.
If you want games to come out on XB then actually buy it when it comes out, just like Switch gamers do. Except those games with exclusivity deals with competitor, the rest is all ON YOU XB gamers for not supporting them.
Not tech wise but cost vs profit.. Porting games to switch is harder, sure, but the sales number justified the cost. XBox series S is not only hard to port but when you do, the number is abysmal.
It's as simple as asking yourself is it worth the resources spent?
well that's because "giving it a chance" means we have to shell out the money upfront.
And it did fail because obviously it's not catering to the majority of potential buyers. If this were any other industries you'd be mad not making the product according to the market's taste. Imagine trying to sell steak to a vegan. But somehow in the gaming industries companies kept ridiculing would be buyers because they won't buy want they don't like. ...
Nice sale for an indie game
When gaming started become mainstream and exploded in profit it’s inevitable the finance dudes will get involved, and when they do, just like any other industry passion and product-focused goals will become “growth at all cost” BS.
If you buy a Ubisoft game at launch you’re paying to QA test their game.
My dude, players have to pay upfront before they “decide”, that’s why review exist in the first place, so players can make an informed decision before giving their cash.
Current gaming and movie industries are weird. The companies often pick a fight with their own customers and then getting upset when they’re not buying the product.
Any other industries would scramble to meet the market’s taste, doing market research in order to sell their products but in gaming, companies try their hardest to dictate the market what they should buy and like, it’s hilarious.
If the players all stop playing and stop giving them money, I’ll bet they will release the game faster than GTA VI.
This kind of company, they always put the most requested feature/event on almost indefinite delay for emergency measures. Just look at MCU with their deadpool and wolverine movie, or Ubisoft with their feudal japan AC. Want them to release the game? Make it an emergency.
