I have both consoles and a universal remote. If I just want to watch Netflix I'm going watch it on the 360 because then i don't have to pull out another controller. This is the reason i bought a universal remote in the 1st place.
Of course this could all change if i ever decide to purchase that harmony bt adapter.
that's why i said i wouldn't.
between family and bills you have to show discretion with your income. especially in this economic downturn.
I would take a sledge hammer to my ps3 if it meant saving my 360 but there's no way i'd pay that much for live. They better not....
Your post reminds me of the penny arcade comic that talks about the "Think B4 you speak" campaign:

"now i can finally throw my 360 in the bin ..."
wait a minute...forza
wait a minute...left for dead
wait a minute...another few sessions of GTA4 online
maybe you should hang on to your 360 a little while longer.
I'm glad it's coming to my ps3.
giant bomb isn't bad either. one of the site's founders was fired from his old job because he being honest about a game...
Except this one comment:
"Although an awkward aiming mechanic nearly cripples the game..."
That seems to be the major criticism of this game but i never had issues with the auto-aim.
If anyone has a 360 you won't regret buying this game.
you definitely dont need MS official add on.
randomwiz - did you see my recommendation for powerline ethernet?
no dispute about 360 hdd price gouging.
don't go wifi. you already know the issues associated with wireless gaming so i won't list them. best options in order are:
1. hard wire
2. powerline - http://www.amazon.com/gp/se...
3. wireless
and yeah rechargeable batts are not really an issue...
THEY ARE COMPARABLE BECAUSE THEY BOTH REQUIRE YOU TO PAY TO PLAY YOUR GAME(S)ONLINE. THIS IS A GLARING SIMILARITY BETWEEN WoW & XBL. In that regard it's definitely apples to apples.I understand that XBL offers more features/content than WoW's online segment. I understand that XBL & PSN are comparable services. Charging for access to online play or rather the perceived value of that access is the crux of coolrah's argument.
My response is basically that charging access t...
...because you had a rough time with your xbox. It's well documented that you were not alone in your experience. Boycotting a manufacturer based on poor customer service is perfectly acceptable.
However I respectfully do not accept your explanation in the differences between the MMO & Xbox live online fees. It's still paying to play online no matter which way you slice it (on top of our overpriced broadband service). That includes "full" experience and all. If you p...
It's not a weak point of view. It's a valid argument because THE PRINCIPLE is the same. You make an initial outlay of cash and then spend more cash to be involved in the community. Please argue against the PRINCIPLE.
I'm not talking about lag, player capacity or console specific features. I'm speaking, again, to the PRINCIPLE of paying for the hardware and/or IP and then paying for community involvement in addition.
Coolrah's rant is about the value of paying for onl...
you weren't trying to start an intelligent discourse. it's pretty obvious that you HATE xbox and xbox live. to each his own.
jinxstar thanks for your civil reply. i don't see the difference between buying an MMO and then having to pay a fee to play online and buying a console w/games and then having to pay a fee to play online as well. the amount of money you pay between just a game(s) and console plus games is OBVIOUS but THE PRINCIPLE REMAINS THE SAME - initial purchase then payin...
...as in the game not the expression.
i'm gonna start bringing WoW into every discussion i see about xbox live gold fees. somebody please explain to me why nobody slams WoW but goes ape-shizer over xbox live gold membership.
coolrah, you and everybody else who insults gold members for paying for online play better not have a WoW account(s). that would be hypocrisy.
finally, we all wish gaming was free on 360. unfortunately it's not and it's not gonna cha...
thanks.
whengeeksgobad...pick up that new harmony bt adaptor and do a write up on that too. apparently you're able to write in an unbiased fashion.
I haven't researched it yet but it looks very Media Center centric.
I concur with housegroove - definitely no harmonies with bt.
pray tell. What universal macro enabled remote works with the ps3?
I agree. Nobody would pay for live if online play was included in silver membership.I'm not defending having to pay. I wish it was free as on ps3/pc.
But it's not. I really like my 360 and I like playing on line so I pay and I've never lost sleep over it.
Does anyone ever bring up WoW in these arguments?
