That was hilarious.
Forget about early access to demos, discounts on XBLA titles, facebook, twitter, netflix, etc. The one feature that drives XBL gold membership is online gaming.
Also, the biggest gripe about XBL is the price. PSN+ is more expensive than live and the most premiere of all features is already free. I'm unmotivated to buy this...as of now.
The controls are slow. Remember that sequence in UC2 when you carry the camera man that's been shot? That's weighty.
Complaints of slowness & clunkiness are not made up. FPS fans expect to have snappy controls and i don't mean auto aim. When you want to look left or right it should be sudden like dramatic gopher: http://www.youtube.com/watc...
You don't want to say that...
That is a badass home theater.
This is their way of easing the userbase into the idea of paying to play.
This is the only gaming site I visit where people see wi-fi as a positive gaming feature. I really don't get it.
This quote stood out to me far more than the sales numbers.
The interviewer asked "might there ever be a point where you'll charge for the service, as Microsoft does?"
Dille's response:
"It's been our philosophy not to charge for it from launch up until now, but Kaz recently went on the record as saying that's something we're looking at. I can confirm that as well. That's something that we're actively thinking about. What's the best way to approa...
Awesome in killzone 2. It's clumsy in Uncharted DF - that's why ND left it out in Among Thieves.
If there was a fail in the ps3 I'd say not including an IR port was a major oversight - especially if you have a nice universal remote.
nothing beats a demo. as far as getting a feel for the game if i can't get a hold of a demo or rental i trust giant bomb & yahtzee.
Trading or selling privately is definitely the best way of getting as much value as possible from your games. I've been using goozex quite a bit lately because i can trade my old DVDs too.
I can't believe Afrika didn't make this list.
ok. maybe he should have said gaming world...
THIS--->" Whether or not you agree that Halo was a great game, the world would be very different without it."
I don't think there will be mass acceptance of a premium service when the most 'premium' feature is already free.
Online gaming will always be the "killer app" for consoles.
XBL wouldn't be so popular without it's multi-player component so why should PSN be any different.
got mine last night. can't wait to get home and play. it sucks having to work all day....but it's nice to have job in these rough times.
I don't think Kotaku twisted the story. Sony is trying to find ways to improve their bottomline through a subscription service.
They'd be insane to charge for multiplayer now but MMO fees wouldn't be out of the question.
