Some idiot will now go and create a "many failures of MAG" article. Please don't if you're that person!
"96 on matacrit is way overflatted. a 92-94 is alot more acceptable"
Seriously, that whole ramble filled with ridiculous comments about the 360 having no good games boils down to 2%? Your right 94% is a big step down from 96%.
Secondly, look at Sparta posting this. His comment history is completely anti-360. Can we just filter his contributions, approved or not, from the 360 news page?
What are the game modes like on this? Do they have non respawning types? I know that if you die earlier it could get boring waiting for the next game or leaving however it would add some great realism to the battlefield. With regards to this, the idea of a "defend the fort" mission is really appealing (in my mind at least)
For example- 100 players defend a fortress. 156 players try to get in and take control. No respawning.
Quick question, why would IGN lie? Secondly, its just an opinion, as are all the reviews. If you think its great then thats just as valuable opinion here on N4G. However, the consensus seems to be its a 7-8/10 which is still pretty good.
What Im excited about is who will take this concept on and add in all the trimmings to make it 10/10 whether that be Mag 2, Killzone 3 etc or a new IP.
Includes Mass Effect 2 + FF13 if you fancy it.
Mass Effect 2 says hi.
360 is holding its own nicely. The market doesn't need another system until 2011 at the earliest. I don't think one, perhaps not even that good, game should force a hardware move.
Kratos 3 years from now is 2013. I wouldn't want the 360 to be there then.
EDIT-
I think its also worth noting that both 360 and ps3 have been successful and commercially viable. Even with the historic rrod issue.
First off Raztad, its complete nonsense to say an RPG can't be good from the very beginning. Yes you have a levelling up process and yes the game may become better as you progress but that doesnt stop you from getting involved in a new story, being introduced to new landscapes, meeting new characters and fighting your first enenmies. If anything that can sometimes be the best part.
Anyway, back on topic;
I think MAG probably isn't a great game but, in saying that...
As a 360 only owner I'd agree that 2009 was the weakest yet for the console. 2010 looks to be getting things back on track.
As for Mass Effect. If Im honest, I really wasn't that bothered about the first game. However it sounds like the second installment has really upped its game. No way I can get this game until I get paid next Friday. Looking at my bank balance I'm on an economy drive until then!
I find it really funny everytime a PS3 fanboy trolls an article about 360 games
Whats amusing is that people still get worked up about monthly sale figures for the PS3 and 360. Yet with each and every month, no matter who sells more, both are flying off the shelves like hotcakes. Neither is going anywhere and by the time the PS3 catches the 360 it'll be time for the next gen war to begin all over again (joy!!)
This is possibly the best ever era for gamers. Two massive companies really evenly matched slugging it out, slashing prices and battling for our aff...
Really solid numbers. People who find a console being successful unpalatable simply because it isnt a PS3 don't matter in life.
2 great games with completely different paces/gaming requirements.
Another great review by somebody who has actually played the game rather than the 5min demo.
"The only thing MS is good at is overhyping their games. That's it."
This is the Gamer Zone right?
Enough with the "but you can play it on PC"
I dont care so go pollute someone elses webspace with that repeated drivel.
I'd personally prefer to talk about the games.
You're not allowed to have an opinion different from the "herd" on here.
Didn't you know that!!?
Do some of you fanboys not get tired of having the same posts and making the same points day after day?
Some people are commenting that MS are desperately throwing their console at customers, pleading with them to buy it at any cost.
They're not.
By bundling 12 months of live they're getting another household hooked into gamertags, FPS clans etc. This means an extra $40 in 12 months but, more importantly to MS, an extra advocate of the 720 for the future.
My 10 year old cousin got a PS3 for Christmas yesterday. What game was he desperate to have? Avatar and Quantum of Solace!
The top 20 list at Christmas simply shows the inclusion of parents and kids who simply aren't aware of "what good looks like".
It kinda reinforces something we need to accept on N4G. The hardcore gamer is not in the majority.
Completely under my radar. 2010 is really shaping up a hell of alot better for the 360 than last years "blip".
To be fair this game could be anything from a 6-10/10. Who knows but first indications look decent.
