This has been around since the OG ps2. I bought both the horizontal and vertical stands. Loved that blue color and the console looked incomplete without it. If I recall the theme back then was space and water.

I don't know which idiot downvoted you but I have the exact same reasoning and questions. I'm keen on the new console for the very fact that a drive can be swopped out in case it dies. If the disc version of the slim has this feature it would be a no-brainer to go with this. If not I will buy a DE and a drive, don't mind paying a bit extra than having to send in a whole console if the disc drive dies.

I pre-ordered a digital copy but if there's decent bundles and the hardware has no issues, may sell my OG PS5 and pick up one of these.
I can definitely see that happening. Typically stores take the initiative with made up bundles in any case.
