This. And Sony also does this with titles these days.
Its simple. FF games have never sold well on XBOX. Thats it. Why place extra development time and resources on a version for a console that traditionally has abysmal sales for your titles? Not rocket science.
PS all the Final Fantasy fans already knew which console to buy if they wanted to play these games. I know it drove my decision to purchase a PS5.
Sony did not BUY Square.
With that particular gen Sega Saturn did not run the total length of time when conmpared to PS1 and N64. I had one, the model that could play VCDs.
Yes please and Xenogears
@Aloy, yeah its pretty sad. I kinda feel sorry for him at times but then he goes and creates insulting and derogatory usernames.
Sega dropped out early with the Saturn
We have already seen this scenario with the PS1 and the N64. Arguably the best generation in gaming.
@Karl I'm too busy playing games dude. FF7 Rebirth has my attention not some floundering console on the brink of extinction.
PS...MS laid off more employees. Now if you'll excuse me, gotta level up my materia.
Deal.
I did my part; bought a Rebirth deluxe which is sealed next to my sealed Remake deluxe on my shelf and bought digitally to play.
Green? Lol. I think at this point MS has thrown in the towel. Four games will turn into five then six and so on...
AAAA game my arse
Chat GPT?
We talking about XBOX here. The console not XBOX as a service. But very soon XBOX will likely only be a service in any case. Toodles, I'm off to play Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth now.
No it isnt in a good way. Lets not pretend XBOX chose this please. Years of mismanagement led to this.
Yo, is a max payne 3 remaster in the works?
Deserving of each accolade.
Square has nothing to do with Sony, Polygon. But the truth is the industry cant continue like this in perpetuity, something has got to give. I remember nineties gaming as the golden age; visually pleasing graphics for the time and with reasonable budgets that allowed for experimentation and a more diverse choices for gamers. Now every game has its content dictated by a publisher who is not willing to take design risks due to the cost of investment.
And all of those sold terribly. If you want to play JRPGs look to Nintendo and Sony. MS had a good run with the 360 on this front but they messed up bad.
