ps4pro isn't an upgrade for only people with 4k tvs... per my previous reply... i think this was the problem at sony's conference... the communication was bad
I think most of the hate (or legitimate hate) is coming from the fact that, although I think the ps4 pro is a solid product, sony did a poor job in the communication.
In my opinion, they should have structured their conference more like this:
- as of today, ps4 is still the best performance console (including the xbox s)
- as of ps4 slim release, the ps4 slim is be the best performance console
- once the ps4 pro releases, it will take a ...
there's no quote there either.
ah well. we'll find out soon enough.
do we have an actual quote of what sony/house said? I'm interested to know if he actually said. Although the article had quotes from sony/house, none of the below were actually in quotes
The title says: PS4 Neo will not be at E3
Then the article says: The new console will not be revealed at E3 next week
If sony/house actually said this, then why didn't they put these comments in quotes?
Did sony/house actually mean: pe...
I agreed with everything you said, until "The GT days are over". Very dumb comment.
nope. @Spyroo and @Mr.Pumbleshook. Do you agree the visuals do not look great? Do you agree that when games are revealed in trailers and made playable ahead of release, that quality generally decreases by the time it comes to retail? Do you really think the; lighting, shadows, anti-aliasing, reflections, environment (grass, leaves, wind), particle effects (dust, etc) -> will get better? Or are you fanboys that cannot have a real discussion.
i dont believe 50% complete means the visuals will improve. historically, games shown vs. time of release degrades visuals. We will not suddenly see an increase in better lighting, shadows, anti-aliasing, reflections, environment (grass, leaves, wind), particle effects (dust, etc)... I dont think there's any hope for this game.
I expect, this is very downgraded for VR sake. So, for VR sake, let's hope the experience is good... otherwise this is a write off and i&...
I think it's safe to say, quality will not improve much. I would guess "not at all". How often have we seen quality improve between trailer reveals, demos, and final release. Instead, there are much more times when quality actually goes down.
We'll have to wait and see, but 50% means nothing about quality IMO. Just looking back in history, I dont know why people think that suddenly, in the next trailer, we'll see better grass, environment, lighti...
I think some people are missing the big picture here. Yes, everyone is entitled to their opinion and it's ok to have a game you love scored so low. It's ok if it's given a 4/10. But, this isn't the problem here.
Most people generally have issues with critic reviews (not only in games, but also in movies such as Batman v Superman - which I also loved), and so don't rely on them. There are many reasons why we don't respect critic reviews in general...
wow... all these comments are based off of the first fanboy comment about... making it on PC.
Why does everyone assume that the dev's "ambition" is limited on console but not so on PC?
there's 2 possibilities here.
1) dev's ambition involves some vr / augmented reality, hologram -> physical movement controller device -> something far out that would make you feel you're really there running from zombies.
This is such a ridiculous comment.
SNES, GENESIS, 2D era consoles... are you trying to say the games rendered more frames per second? each animation had like 3 frames total! lol. so those 3 frame choppy animations were running at 60fps or refresh rate and that's supposed to be better gameplay? Driving games on the SNES, when you were driving past trees or other cars on the road, the tree or opponent car also each had a total of, maybe 3 frames to "animate"? lo...
This generation contains the most egotistical gamers I've ever seen. Digital Foundry and users like AndrewLB both are examples of this.
People work so hard on games, show undeniably strong demos of pre-alpha games, and people still want to hate, and justify their hate through speculation, and end up shitting all around the industry.
Here's how honest feedback sounds like. Pay attention Digital Foundry and AndrewLB.
Unless there's...
these updates are nice... but i'm starting to expect (or at least hope) that they'll announce a bigger update at E3. maybe:
- UI organization improvements
- UI customizations
- A Sony Media Player App (USB, DLNA, Network Drive -> Videos, Pictures, and Music)
- Youtube
- 3D BluRay
- Video Chat
- Saved Game Session State (when power is off/standby)
- ? New Apps ? (i.e. google services - music, photos, etc)
lol. the order isn't 900p. it's 1080p with with wide aspect ratio. in case you don't know the difference:
- 900p gets upscaled/stretched to fit your 1080p tv.
The Order does not do this. the image will be a 1080p crystal clear image.
just a friendly fyi
unfortunately, IGN sometimes have to suck the life out of a project in development and crap on their amazing opportunity to see sneak peak demos.
Of course the game currently has technical hickups; it is still a few months away from release, being ready at dawn's first AAA console title on a brand new IP and brand new game engine on a brand new next gen console.
But why is he focusing on it so much? The tone of the whole article is focused on this. Is the...
Agreed. And just how blue ray movies with wide aspect ratios are still classified as 1080p... Same should go for games with wide aspect ratio. It represents the image quality which is the same. 1080p. No upscaling/stretching.
People are mixing up the differences between 1080p 16:9, 1080p 2.40:1, 900p 16:9... So I wanted to clear that up.
People forget... That "900p" games have gotten flack because they are also stretching its image to fit your 1080p TV. This game will not. It is opting for wide screen ratio... Resulting in black bars, but every game pixel will map to a TV pixel. So the picture clarity is just like a "1080p" game... Because it is a 1080p game.
Just to clarify this game is not closer to 906... It is 1080p. Just like bluray movies... Its image isn't being upscaled/stretched to fill your 1080p TV.
Read my post below... The number of pixels the game renders might be close to how much a "900p" game renders... However... A "900p" game typically has needed to be stretched to fill your 1080p TV. This game doesn't... Instead... It perfectly fits your TV... Except that they opted for a wide aspect...
The Order 1886 is not 800p... Its 1080p... Just like bluray movies... Unlike "900p" games... This game is not being upscaled/stretched to fit your 1080p TV.
@Axios2... Understand what you're comparing before flaming out.
good points, however i dont think the hate is that it's being compared to the scorpio, nor dos it cater to 4k tv owners. per my previous post, i think it's just poor communication and people are not clear on what benefits the ps4 pro will bring.
