Because that worked out so well for the Vita. What they need to do is support it like they've supported the ps3 right after they realized that the playstation name alone wouldn't carry the console to success.
They need to come out guns blazing and maintain that throughout the first year into the 2nd. They need to realize that they aren't the market leader coming into this and that people won't buy it simply because it's a playstation.

@r21 Yes that makes sense, lets compare a 4 week sales to debut sales. Because thats how you tell if a game is doing well, compare its brand new sales to current sales of an older game.

Yeah actually this isn't just the TV business, its SONY as a whole. Please try reading past the headline Gribble. The Reuters article posted operating income which does not take into account taxes and other fees. This is the net income which as you can see is still in the red.

Not one single game on the Vita has crossed the million units mark. And at 3.45 million units sold in 2012, the Vita has to be the slowest selling mainstream console of all time.
It took 42 weeks for the vita to sell a million in Japan, compare that to the psp which took only 10 weeks and you can see why 3rd party developers aren't falling over themselves to make games for the little doomfest
