I think Sony prefer innovation, which for the most part you never see on a MS console game. So MS want to 'buy' out all the biggest third party games that once were for Sony.

3d fighters will never play as well as 2d, but if they are going to move into 3d once again, I hope it is at least responsive and has no slowdown.
King Of The Fighters MI 3d games have slowdown, as do Soul Calibur. And that blows. To have the crazy special moves and super moves/cancels, they would have to make a slick product for it to run smoothly.
