The chances of getting one without putting in much effort is very slim, you have to fight and work hard to get something that’s in high demand these days. I think it will be another 4 months maybe longer before you can walk into a store and pick one up.

I haven’t played since launch so I’m going to give this new season a try. The idea behind the game is great but it’s difficult for new BR games to take off amongst the top titles.

This game had a lot of backtracking, it’s a Metroidvania at heart so that’s to be expected to some extent. Updates have added a lot of fast travel systems since the game launched but it’s still exploration heavy so it might not be for you.
There’s lots of collectables, upgrades and a skill tree. There’s a few NG+ modes that force you to play a little different each time which I really enjoyed.
I loved Titanfall so much I couldn’t bring my self to enjoy Apex, my first game was full of disappointment when I realised the movement mechanics was not the same.
I lose interest with FPS campaigns very fast but Titanfall 2 was good enough to replay multiple times.
That’s definitely peaked my curiosity, I’ll be keeping an eye on this one for sure.
I can’t think of any other cinematic survival sims so they might have something unique here, unless you count that crap Bear Grylls puts on Netflix.
the environments, bosses and lore feel souls like but apparent from that and learning the enemies moves they are not much alike. It’s hard comparing 2d-3d.
It’s a Metroidvania but fairly linear compared to Hollow Knight. The speed and combat is slower compared to dead cells.
If you want a challenge with dark themes and environments I’d say go for it. The game uses Spanish religion as it’s main focus and that’s something I would never of been interested in but it ...

The PC port is fine, there’s not much wrong with the console version thinking about it. only issue I had on console was the load time after dying, it’s not an issue on PC even without an SSD.
I’d say take a months gamepass but you could just get a refund on steam if you didn’t like the game. It’s pretty unique as there’s nothing else quite like it, loads more content now but it’s always best played with friends.

Why are people doing this? it sounds like more of an attack on the game rather then individual people.
Normally these type of games focus heavily on one element and include parts of others. Stranded deep did survival right but had a weak story bolted onto it, Subnautica got the story part right but falls short of being a true survival game.
Interested to see what direction this games goes but I’m leaning more towards it being story focused, if there’s enough depth to the survival side it could be something very special.
