I got a feeling Sony will look very different with Jim Ryan as the new leader of Sony next gen. He will put ps now services as top priority imo instead of staying traditional to really compete with Xcloud and not miss out on the 2 billion cloud market. The issue with Sony following Microsoft to profit off the 2billion cloud market is relying on Azure servers which will cut into their revenue next gen that can harm them long term.

Sony is smart for copying the Gamepass price subscription model. And fanboys can hate on Microsoft all they want but one thing they know how to do is find new ways to innovate in gaming and business. Sony knows they have to compete with Gamepass to make PS now more enticing to gamers next gen.

No thats not always the case because some 3rd party devs are lazy and will not take advantage of the premium console. The 1X had these issues with some 3rd party devs. And I didnt confirm anything Im just talking about the rumor of Sonys 2 console launch and calling it a double standard imo because when Microsoft tried it there was a lot of people that hated the idea even devs but now that Sony is flirting with that same idea its cool.

Yes it does have everything to do with optimization especially with 3rd party games which should run better on the better hardware. And your right devs did tell Microsoft to remove lockhart from launch next gen or they will not take advantage of Xbox Scarlett. But I find it really odd that devs are not telling Sony the same thing.
Remember Microsoft wanted to launch 2 consoles next gen and had to change plans because they were told by devs that the base model lockhart will get more optimization than the Scarlett which would hurt Microsoft next gen even more. So will devs say the same thing to Sony about their 2 console launch plans or is it okay for them to do it without any issues of parity.
I agree with this article. The next gen Ps5 and Xbox Scarlett will have to be more than just graphical powerhouses in order to sell at launch because gamers want more than that. Great to hear native hardware RT but power will not define next gen, exclusives and services will.
If both PS5 and Xbox Scarlett can run every game at 60Fps 1440p-4K it will set a true next gen experience for console players.
