If you own both you'll get it on the platform of preference, regardless of time of release.

At least consumers have an option without really missing out on anything before playstation plus was released. Its about value and how you see it fitting into your budget: I subscribe to both xbl and ps+ because I like to have full features and can afford it. I agree Stan, I still have my ps2 and my collection still, as well as a launch ps3. I feel there is much value in these collections, I look forward to the sly collection as well since I never played the franchise and I can get 3 classic games remastered for the price of one.

I believe for Sony they see it as adoption over demand. Right now it's not demand but the trend in the next couple years is pointing towards it and may lead to a demand. It's a free feature that allows the consumer to adapt to the trend, not force.
