gdc is not exactly where games are announced. Microsoft does have something coming up in April so probably then.
It is sad to see that they might not be working on the game they showed off, but if they have been working on it for a couple of years and they made huge progress on the game they wouldnt just can the game like that. Maybe there might have been some miscommunication and the game could still come out around the same time as gears 4 does or even sooner, depending on how big their team gets and how close they are to completion. Anyways, MS isnt the only one that does this, SSM were working on a ...
Even the biggest sony fans can admit that the Xbox one can do way better than this.
Does Outlast have a huge open world the size of Chicago? If it does than thats pretty impressive.
ITT, a bunch of whiny negative kids somehow dont think this is possible on the current gen consoles.
Compare this to the Samaritan demo, just about the same. Compare the old UE3 demos and compare it to Gears and especially gears 3. Not much different, the worst that can happen is some very minor differences that only 1% of the gaming population care about. This is a good representation of whats possible on this current gen.

What is an original game? The only thing you can do atm is just try and improve from others and if your're lucky maybe set the standards like Halo did for competitive shooters. Every zombie game is almost the same because zombies react the same, but they can do stuff to make it unique or atleast give it a nice atmosphere which is very important for a zombie game.
I think the better argument is that 1080p games can still look like crap on a 1080p tv. If the division can look the way it does now but only in 900p and 30fps I'll still take it. We're at the point where devs need to add lots more detail to games and if they can make it 1080/60fps then thats just a bonus.
It also depends on the type of game. A game like Halo needs to push special effects and lighting and shadow effects so they can afford to dial it down to 900p.
I could set up the old sonic games to 4k but it still wont be looking much better. I would rather have devs focus on making cool special effects like particle effects, lighting, weather and so on first before they make up their mind to only be at 1080p and 60fps. I have 20/20 vision and I cant tell the difference between the e3 Ryse and the final Ryse. And the differences between MGS5 wont be noticable when I'm actually playing the game and not pausing the game every 5 seconds.
In technology- the original xbox, too bad it didnt sell too well, where were all these sony fans talking about how the ps4 is marginally more powerful now back when the ps2 was barely even hanging on.
They chose to use the source engine because that was the best engine to use atm to get the best performance. It could look like Killzone Shadowfall but it will have the same performance as Killzone. I assure you this game would look no different on the PS4.
First off many people found the first Gears of War to look better than the first Uncharted. Secondly the esram and other stuff I dont want to mention because it will start some type of shitstorm isnt being used to its full potential yet and will get better once devs get to use it. The X1 is the more complicated system now. It will have its pros/cons.
Lets go way back to 06 when the 360 which was $200 cheaper had Gears of War look way better than Resistance. A few years later you got Killzone 2 and Uncharted 2. I'm not saying that the X1 is more powerful or even the same as PS4. I'm just saying that games will drastically improve compared to launch games, especially because the X1 is a little bit more difficult to utilize to its full potential and once devs do start using it it should be able to play the games that I've listed....
Its only a problem for multiplatform devs that arent used to using the tech in the X1. Just Wait for the exclusive games like Sunset Overdrive, Quantum Break, Halo 5 and Gears 4
Well people who work hard and dont live off of Welfare can get both consoles and get the best of both and yes the X1 does have amazing games that look almost just as good as the PS4 games, just a teeny tiny little bit behind it though not as bad as you think.
Well Microsoft is providing the games, both Multi and Singleplayer.
Heres a list:
Sunset Overdrive: Single and Multiplayer
Quantum Break: Singleplayer story driven game with gameplay mechanics.
Titanfall: Multiplayer that will hold up for years.
Halo: Providing gamers with the best of both single and multiplayer.
Gears of War: Single and multiplayer that will last for years
Does Sony have as much diversity in games like that?
Why is everyone saying theres not much difference between the X1 version and 360 version. The difference is just as clear between the PS4 and PS3 versions.
Also Digital Foundry said its the next gen game out of all consoles.
It looks like that one scene is just at a bad angle or something because that one scene, you know when the car is jumping the bridge, it gives an illusion that makes it look like it could be a ps2 game but it looks like that because there is a whole lot of bright light from the helicopter. The other scenes show off impressive car models and nextgen lighting. Seriously, look at the 1:30-1:45 you can see the transition.
