This review is very accurate. Definitely having crash problems. Load times to travel between areas is annoying. Too many enemies not enough bullets at times. Hit box is off. Etc etc. But its still a good game. 5 might be harsh. Maybe a 7.
It's an all around crazy situation for sure. But it's business. It's a brutal business at that. Devs already made their money for old games especially once the license has been sold to Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo. Many of the companies that made those games have closed down or have been bought out. Much like the movie industry you get paid to sell your ip to a distributor and move on to the next ip. Devs are not starving because a game they made 10 yrs ago is no longer on a server.

The ps3 cost the company so much to include the actual ps2 system in it. They went the emulation route and discovered financially it just wasn't viable to provide a function that not many were using despite claims to the contrary. So they decided to include the old games in a subscription based format which makes sense financially. But it seems even that wasn't proving lucrative.
