ffxi is a squaresoft game. alot of the content came after their merger with enix though. the game is like any other mmo out there. will steal your soul while grinding your epeen.

alot of people think its a new compression type. what the hell would they need testers for a new compression type for? to see if you can still insert a disc into your xbox? that makes absolutely no sense at all. even if its a new type of dvd, they would know if the xbox drive can read it or not. perhaps the drive can read it but with some difficulty, and they are taking testers to gather statistical information on failure rates or whatnot.

i applaud nintendo for not cashing in easy with online shit. during their wii hayday(umm 2008?) they could have launched a pay service like M$ and raked in millions if not a billion by now, but they did not.

well this is the eternal question. which console has the larger user base? the only number we have to go by is the console makers sales numbers.
has it ever been determined if a replaced unit is counted as a sale? do people who have their unit refurbished due to rrod or ylod count as a new sale? if it does then the "counting units sold as user base" method is not accurate at all as xbox would have a hugely padded "install base" as compared to ps3.

if the characters were stored locally, there would be rampant cheating, trainers, and hacks. what fun would that be? what point in doing pvp when people have an insta kill switch? what good is a leaderboard when it would be padded with hackers? look at borderlands or diablo2 and you will know what i mean.

games workshop(the creators of warhammer) have 2 variants of their table top model game. warhammer is fantasy with orcs and elves and what not, while warhmmer 40k is similar but set in the year 40,000.
the warhammer mmo was the fantasy one with bows , swords and *yawn*. this new one is the 40k universe. theres a trailer out there for it you can find easy enough. enjoy!
is hoping for all new game assets to much? if they rehash the same models for the 10th time i will cry. other than that i cant wait for more details to come out about this.
