It wasn't just the price cut for the 3DS that did the trick. It was the price cut plus killer games like Mario Kart 7 and Super Mario 3D land. I think if they can lock down a Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros Wii U date with a Wii U price cut they will be okay for the time being. Imagine a bundle like that for Christmas. I just bought Wonderful 101 and I struggled at first but once I got the hang of it it is a really cool game. I can't stop playing it I just wish more people would have given it a chance.
The frame rate on the Xbox One is definitely more stable than the PS4. I think the PS4 version is razor sharp though. I have both versions.
I guess the point of them being currently available at my local Best Buy was totally missed. The Wal-Mart in my area has some as well.
The game does seem interesting. I will definitely give it a download when it is released.
I guess the area I live in is antiPS4 or antivideogames period because the PS4 and Xbox One where in good supply and readily available on Christmas eve and the PS4 is in stock at my nearest Best Buy now. Just for amusement select in store pick up at Muncy, PA. or use zipcode 17701.

Let's just hope this update fixes things. The December update fixed a few issues and caused new issues.
I am going to give it a shot tonight and we'll see how I make out. I will break out the Snes for the controller so I can feel right at home.
I am happy that you guys took the time to highlight such an awesome game. I don't know how old you guys are but some games aren't as easy as I remember them. I use to breeze through the Mega Man series on both Nes and Super Nes but I tried to play the series on the Wii U virtual console and I was terrible. I don't even think I could get past the first level of those games. Old school side scrollers take precision, reflexes, and patience. These are traits I now lack, I guess.
I thought the original Contra on both arcade and Nes was not too hard. Super C in the arcade was very difficult for me to play but the Nes version was very forgiving. Contra III may have been easier for me because I played the hell out of the game.
One of my favorite games of all time I just downloaded the game from the Wii U eshop and it is still awesome to play after all this time. I wish they would remake the game with updated graphics.
Edit: this game is very challenging but its not as hard as the guys that were playing it makes it seem. These guys really suck at the game. There have much harder Contra games out there than Alien Wars.
I have a ps4 as well but I am interested mostly in the Wii U version I could get it for the ps4 or PC for the better graphics but I am really interested in seeing how they implement the gamepad and that might make the game more fun for me.
Have you even been on the Wii U eshop? There are a lot of cool indie games on there and the library is only going to grow.
