the fact that people are always making articles like this show why the wii is such a failure for gamers as a whole. Yes, it's sold an incredible amount of systems in a short time but 95% of the games are horrible and the "hardcore" games get a free pass from core wii owners because the standards of wii games are incredibly low.

Demon's Souls is a great game and it exceeded the expectations of atlus.
It gained a reputation for being brutally hard, having a great atmosphere and game mechanics. The game had almost no advertising and gamers showed sony and atlus that there is a market for games that break the mold.

Yes, i have played the game. Infact, i bought it last week because i've always been pretty curious about it. It was fun for about an hour, but then it just got really awful. The alien spawn points, the same repeating environments, the level design. It's just flat out horrible.
Also, the state of the art graphics engine?? LOL.
This game is truly horrible. HVS owes IGN their lives for hyping this game to no end.

i wouldn't say it's the golden age of gaming (i think the snes/genesis era was) but there are alot of quality titles out for all the platforms. You're right about the fanboys though. They need to go away.

Look at demon's souls. That game is a huge success for atlas.
i played fable 2 on my brothers 360 for a few hours. It seemed like a fun game but i didn't really see how the things i was doing in the game had any effect on the game world itself. The one thing i didn't like about the game was that it seemed like it needed to load every 5 mins. I can't complain too much though cause that's how bayonetta is on the ps3. load load load, sheesh.
demon's souls deserves GOTY.
I'm sure it won't get it from any of the major sites but it truly deserves to be GOTY. There's nothing on the market like it and it's unlike anything i've ever played. It's definitely a game people will be talking about 10 years from now.

it is a typical on-rails game but there's plenty of replay value and unlockables. Not to mention the game is extremely long for an on-rails game. I bought it for $50 when it first came out, and while i haven't played it in forever, i'm glad i own it in case i ever want to pop it in. For $16 new it's an absolute steal.
