I like HALO. A lot. No, I mean a lot as in bought a second 360 - HALO edition street dated Sunday, books, comics, backpack, missile case, everything and to this day HALO splits most of my gaming time with Metal Gear Solid. I understand the guy not liking HALO but the inability to see what HALO is and the stortelling capability it possesses leaves it pretty clear Adam is a dullard.
As for Jaffe, I don't often agree with a great deal he says but as a veteran he is exactly right....
The cuts seem slow - they don't need to be NG fast but as an Iaido practitioner they seem a little slow.
However the realism in the game has me hyped and I am looking forward to picking it up. The fact there has been very little press is concerning but it's one of those, "I still have to get it" titles for certain persons such as myself.
My call came yesterday from Gamestop telling me my copy would be in today and I am looking forward to it. They have truly broken ground on what is expected in storytelling and it will be interesting to see where the sequel, whose script is already complete, goes.
I agree with fopums as well as jsin007 that the detractors are nothing more than fanboys because only an idiot wouldn fail to acknowledge the artistic leap that has been achieved in this title.
If a video game does not possess a strong story element it is doomed to failure as a motion picture. This is actually one of the reasons why HALO will be great. It is one of the reasons why a movie like Grand Theft Auto would degenerate into a movie with mindless violence instead of using that violence to an end as films such as Scarface and Training Day have done.
The game missing from the movie list? Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver. There have been few gaming stories as deep and p...
SOCOM series works fine. I haven't tried MGS3 online since I picked up my PS3. Those servers were being run by Konami so that may be an issue. The SP portion is great.
The thing about PS2 games on the PS3 is that you have to use your USB headset from the PS2. Works like normal. But the games look great upscaled. We have been running SOCOM II quite a bit.
Well Crazyglues we are tired of waiting 6 weeks and getting a console back that RRODs on us in the first few minutes of turning it on. Then I had to go just over 8 weeks for the 3rd one. I still don't have my check for the first one. MS gave me a free month of LIVE. BFD assholes. I lost 14 weeks and you gave me 4. Where is the other 10?
Get over it. If you want to talk total money lost due to failure rates MS takes away the cake easily. I lost two 360s so far. I lost an Xbox1 because of a crappy Thompson drive. My refurb 360 came and I traded it on a HALO3 edition that arrives in a few days.
And MS never admitted there was an issue with Forza 2 whereas Sony came clean on Warhawk right up front.
Zhuk - ridiculous. The PS3 hasn't been out a year yet and yet it is over a 1/3 of the way towards MS figures. It is just now picking up speed. Peter Moore stood up on his second day of the job and said kiss the framrate issues on the PS3 good bye. It is his new favorite console.
MS is the one last quarter that dropped over 60% in sales from the same time last year. The PS3 isn't dying because it lacks DVD capacity. Games will only get bigger and demand more disc space. The PS3 ...
