This has been my favorite gen and as soon as PS5 is available for preorder I'm there. That's what I've done since I became an adult. The fact that PS5 is BC so I can catch up on my backlog during thd early years is welcome and by the time I'm through a good chunk we'll be seeing HZD2, GOW2, Spider-Man 2 and any new IP Sony delivers. People really wanted it to be good and I feel for them because I was once a huge Bioware fan. Games like Knights of the Old Republic, Jade Empire, Dragon Age Origins and Mass Effect all gave me so many memorable moments but that was a long time ago.
There's nothing wrong with being optimistic but you have also got to be a realist. Track records are important and a company can either build customer confidence or they can loose that trust.

Just completed the main story yesterday and man what a game! I'm still playing and having so much fun. Cannot wait to see what Bend does with the eventual sequel on PS5!

They tend to stick with the main IP's though and not really creating new ones that are on that level of quality. They also have the "family friendly " rep and while it doesn't bother me per say I wouldn't mind them funding more mature content.

Interesting read. I used to love platformers but now I hardly play any. I'm not partial to any particular genre, I just like what I call quality games. But that doesn't mean every quality title I enjoy will have a bloated budget. With the way M$ is positioning Xbox I wouldn't be surprised if they don't eventually pull a Sega. I mean in a weird way Xbox was like a spiritual successor to Dreamcast so it would all come full circle.

Couldn't agree more and I haven't played QB but I did watch streams on it and it looked like a step back from AW IMO.
Alan Wake though was everything I wanted and more! Loved the narrative, the characters and especially the setting. I love the Pacific Northwest and I really enjoy games set there such as Alan Wake and Days Gone.
Control though looks completely different but because the occult is involved the Oldest House is so much more.
