@beavis4play: I'm not disagreeing with that. MP could fall into the exact same trap and if the sole point of the game is the story, then just scrap the multiplayer because no one wants a shitty MP mode. It works both ways.
Exactly. I don't think resources should be wasted on an afterthought, what's the point? It's going to be terrible anyway.
That's not to say single player shooters should be done away with. Half Life is flippin' epic, Mirror's Edge kinda dropped the ball, but the potential was there. Deus Ex was awesome and the new one looks promising.
I think if the purpose of the game is largely multiplayer, then yes, scrap the single player altogether. Battlefield did it for the most part, although you could still play by youself, but no one really missed the single player as that wasn't its intent.
I'd rather devs focus on outputting an awesome multiplayer experience than one that suffers because they were busy working on the single player at the same time.
Good to see more features and services like this for online games.
@Rybakov: Yeah, I read it, it made sense. It's also why the story is a total mess, considering key plot points aren't presented to the player, but hidden away in a datalog instead. That's called bad story telling.
Not really, if Imageepoch releases all of their PSP games outside of Japan, there's still plenty more to look forward to.
I hope this is way better than FFXIII, the story in that game was a mess.
Totally excited for this.
I'll take most portable JRPGs over FFXIII to be honest. The PSP has had a ton of really good JRPGs on it, with even more coming from Imageepoch and whatnot.
Portal 2 is freaking amazing, I don't get the hate going around.
Indeed, yet ppl play CoD all the time. So clearly ppl do want to play a standard shooter, there's nothing wrong with that.
I don't think it did. KZ2 had some destruction, but mostly just cosmetic stuff. Nothing on the level of BF or RF. KZ3 was all just set pieces.
I love twin stick shooters! I'll keep my eyes on this.
I don't know how they compare, but BF3's looking pretty darn good. It'll be interesting to see how well it plays out in Armageddon.
Doesn't change the fact that they make good games. Still, I'd like to see them back up their criticisms, not fall into the same flippin' hole.
"No self-respecting twenty-something year old will carry a DS"
I guess I have zero self-respect then.
You've offended me Mr. Tretton, I'm very hurt right now.
I think they came back with it with the SOCOM 4 ad, that was a good one.
Tretton made a snide comment. I carry around a PSP and a DS, pretty offended by what he said...
Interesting, Guerrilla was alright, not the greatest, but the destruction was pretty crazy. I'm looking forward to seeing more from Armageddon.
