They will probably patch up the same security updates they used for PSN on all their online services... to avoid the same hackers from using the same or similar methods to hack other Sony networks...

I got an android last week... my first smart phone...
and yesterday night I was talking on the phone while trying to play Air Control and it was so so hard to play such a straight forward game and talk at the same time...
Unless you are in co op games there is not much point in talking to each other. You can't concentrate on the game and you cant concentrate on what the person is saying fully at the same time.
They could have updated anything!!! At the end of the day PSN has been running for years without getting much time off (if I can remember right)
Maybe they had to update PSN so the network can be compatible with some new features that will eventually be available on PS4 or the NGP... this may have been the window of opportunity for them because sometimes updates can't be made to a system unless is it offline.
Or they could simply have updated the security...
More like Sony sold a kick car with a big as stereo system and added every security method possible which caused the best thieves around to take it on as their challenge to steal the stereo and prove they are the best amongst themselves...
No because I live in the year 1990 and online gaming seems like a thing of the future which I don't even believe is possible...
