The combat is definitely cool. I wanna see more vids tho...
I like how the A.I. rolls around when it's on fire lol. I will definitely give this a try in between Amalur and Wicther 2.
Same difference sir.
I why do ppl want to see this game fail. I just don't understand that. It's offering dynamic combat to a genre that's in desperate need of it. This will only make devs work harder to earn our dollar instead of making us play sub par garbage tagged as "the standard".
Everyone may not like this game but the combat is solid and the world is vibrant and interesting. Name a console RPG that does combat better than Amalur....
My 6 year tenure with her has been a love/hate relationship (mostly love tho) ;she may pimp me for $60 a year or less, but, I love it.
Xbox live is the Bunny Ranch of online functionally. I will continue to be one of her many tricks...and love it.
IGN gave it a 9.5, it's safe to say the combat is a huge reason as to why.
I predicted better review scores than FF 13-2 and of course I was right. Whenever you have a good team in place, great things happen and that's the case with 38 Studios.
The demo was awesome and everything I always wanted in a RPG. It has the combat and depth that Fable lacked. The fluidity of the combat and animations kill Dragon Age and the history of Amalur intrigues me and leave me wanting to know more like Avatar
In essence, this game has reinvented ...
I'm about 10 hrs in and this game is a step up from the last and anyone that's playing it right can't help but agree...linearity is all gone because of the time traveling and the battles system is fantastic; It was good in 13 but now it's better.
Instead of reading reviews and listening to ppl with opinions like us, just play the game. It's really hard to dislike.
If they are compelling enough, they get finished, if not then they still on the shelf forever forgotten. Skyrim got boring(I was 200+ hrs in) because of all of the B.S. quest and load screens in town. It takes roughly an hour to sell all accumulated loot because most vendors don't have a lot of money so traveling to different towns to offload the spoils took way too long. I may finish it later this year or never...
If I had to put a number on how many I finish it would be...
I've grown tired of FPS but this on is definitely on my radar. The demo was cool and I'm looking forward to getting it in on this.
Maybe the game studio needs to offer some other kind of incentive to us so that we don't have to use GameStop...but the game back from me?? How about the publishers by the game back and apply that credit towards some exclusive content or a forthcoming title from said publisher?? IDK something other than this online pass madness.
Amalur is no long being offered at Newegg...EA must of found out lol
Everyone here is right both sides of this argue make sense but the question is, will this stop you from supporting the game??
My wife wants to play this title too so I have a lil bit more incentive to 1st day as opposed to Gamefly.
Dark Souls already killed Skyrim IMO, but I think Amalur and the Witcher 2 will be the best this year.
What RPG doesn't have a few repetitive quest? If that's the worst thing about this game than it's a winner in my book. I think that KOA is going to be a great RPG experience...I even predict better scores than FF13-2.
My sentiments exactly. I loved the demo and can't wait to dive into the colorful world of Amalur.
I'm over Skyrim and won't be back for some time...bring on Amalur!!
Ppl like you and the disagree-ers are the reason these devs get away with murder in the first place. Bah sheep. BAAAH!!!!
Single player games don't need online passes...that's the whole point of the argument.
Somebody slide this guy a pillow because it's obvious he'll fall for anything. Bah!
I'm so sick and tired of these petty ass game companies...no two gamers are the same. Some of us have budget constraints and other financial obligations that restrict the $60 price point. I am an avid Gamefly subscriber that only "Day One's" certain titles, everything else comes in the mail. It's a sad day in America when $60 only pays for a portion of the game at launch instead of the full title.
I think that it all depends on the genre. Any respectable gamer knows what he/she is getting into when it comes to RPGs and should welcome the task and time that it requires to see the end of the game.
Like Vortis stated above, grinding is fun when done correctly. Getting to that next level and unlocking new abilities is part of the addiction about RPGs but the pacing, combat, art style, abilities, and quest etc have to be worth grinding for.
IMO, Skyrim g...
GOTY is a game that is classic and timeless. Games that are still in rotation after the hype has died down...Gears 3 is that game to me. Out of all the great games that I have played last year. It's the only one that I play at least every day. If not Gears, then Dark Souls. Dark Souls ate Skyrim alive in terms of what RPG was better.
